5 GT Turbo EFI - GT Turbo

A few more things sorted today. Tidied up a few surface rust areas in the engine bay with a scotch pad and a helping of Hammerite, I need to do a bit more tomorrow on the subframe where the rad sits and as it’s never going to be a show car it’s just a slap it on type job. I’ve bought various size grommets to help against chafing wires where I’ve drilled holes too as a few were looking a little dodgy.

I’ve done away with the strut brace for the time being and tidied up the strut tops a bit too. Eventually I’ll buy one of Matts devil replica braces.

Also sorted the welds to hold crank pulley in place plus sorted the mock up bonnet exit to send to Matt R on Monday.

Bought a new rad today also, gone with the Extra Diesel rad as seems to be the most popular choice. Should be with me Tuesday.

So other than sorting a few water hoses and completing the PMS shifter linkage im pretty much ready for fire up.

Final piece of the puzzle is to get my mate to come and install Race Tech dash and Innovate SSI-4 before mapping. 85B67E46-F563-4B68-BE47-91403BEE91D1.webpE7621BE8-86E1-4B74-81E7-271DE7971055.webp8A91F0B8-E0A5-4FE4-A9A9-361C2DAFFDF1.webp28A3D4EF-5941-4154-B4F7-03089C9BFC73.webp

Gordini head is tried and tested, the crossflow setup gives gains on its own. Like i said on fb you might want to look into cam options when you come to build it up but even on the mild stock cam you will see improvements in VE. looking forward to seeing you get it done and then taking it to bits again for the gd head swap (y)

Not been able to do a great deal the last week or so. I popped over to Machine Mart today and bought a cheap light for engine bay and a small electric heater for garage. The heater seemed to work well enough after 10-15 mins.

Plan is to knock the wooden drawers/chest out and replace with a decent tool chest. Machine Mart have a sale on for the next few weeks which will come In handy.

I think im going to buy some of that jigsaw rubber flooring stuff at some point.

Quickly mocked up dash too but needs a few slight adjustments to get it sitting perfectly. Pleased with the overall look though. Jonathan did a great job.54647899-335F-425B-A03D-E8354D72D7F6.webpADAA0845-16A5-4EBC-AB25-FFFE6E15EA66.webpFAAD411E-BE4A-4300-BDB4-178352870E60.webpFB5E5F2D-F9D1-490F-BA3F-BD46C331E0DD.webp64ABD92C-89C9-4F3A-BAD9-516DA11A82C0.webp

I can call them and do a deal for you though, they used all my pics and a my story on all their social networks

be cheaper if you go with black as well. Come over soon for the bonnet, i'll show you my set up with toolbox and workbench...oh and my new ramp! look on my resto thread

If I was you I'd white the walls and use a decent floor paint to seal the concrete. I've attached a photo of my bro's garage I did for him a few years ago, his concrete was no where near as good as yours looks and gave off loads of dust. Painting it has stopped all that. It costs very little and makes a massive difference. Use a silk white on the walls, a 5 ltr tub should be plenty. Slap the first coat on heavy, the dips and holes in the bricks and mortar will then be highlighted. Go round with a tube or 2 of decorators calk and fill them in, you don't have to be fussy, just bung it in and wipe it flat, give it a second coat of paint and it will cover really well.
For the floor, run round 2 or 3 bricks high and lay a masking tape line (a laser level helps if you have one). Then as before just slap the paint on the bottom of the walls and the floor. In my opinion it always looks good as the neat break line in the paint is what you see. If you try to cut in the two colours on the floor to wall joint its always going to look bad.

If you want you can always add the floor covering afterwards

i painted my floor like the others and left it like that for a year

try laying on that or dragging a kneel pad around and you'll soon get properly f'd off, especially in winter.

that's why I decided to do the floor tiles, I don't even use a kneel pad anymore and the floor isn't like laying on a ice rink!
