5 GT Turbo EFI - GT Turbo

Everything can be cleaned up, that would come up with vapour blasting. Depth is the thing but I dont know what that should be for a gordy head.

can't remember the correct depth, but remember the gt turbo pistons don't have as much crown height as the gordini turbo. so gt turbo pistons with a gordini head drop the compression down from the mid 8.*:1 they run. you'll also need the rocker shaft assembly the pushrods and cam. the rocker covers like to crack under the middle rib and the heads can crack on top.

Yes, two different lengths. the cam followers are different too... the pushrods sit in them slightly differently to a gtt. there's a little notch at the top edge that distinguishes them.

He bought it from new and then passed to his old man for 5 years. The old man is 87 now so his son has taken the car off his dad as it has a few light dings in the bodywork. It has full leather and all the mod cons you’d expect for a 2003 model. It has 83k on the clock but only done 7k in the last 5 years and comes with an MOT until June. I don’t think I can grumble for £1000.

Ive got a standard Alpine Turbo head hat I can take any measures for you if you want, that head looks like a ATMO head and will have different compression ratios ?

I have never ran one on the van at all mate will be fine without. No harm in putting one on if you come across one though. I might have one in the garage

Did a little bit more today. Fitted the turbo and a few of the water hoses plus managed to get the crank hub off so my mate can weld on the crank pulley, I can then fit trigger wheel and sort timing.

Also mocked up bonnet exit and sorted where O2 sensor will fit as to not give too much off a false reading. Will need to wrap hood exit too plus plan to tidy up the engine bay as starting to see a bit of surface rust, nothing a generous helping of Hammerite won’t cure.

It’s a bit of an experiment really with the bonnet exit and can see myself heading to Matt R for a full 3inch system but he needs the car at his place to make sure fitment is perfect so for running it at least the hood exit stays.DAAA8BAF-C60C-429D-A54A-C9FA5B89DFE6.webp
