Had a look at the DVLA site to see if my black phase 1 21T was still on the road E319BVM,not been MOTd since 2009 so apparently no[Sold it to someone from London who came upto Bradford to collect it]a shame as was a tidy car with a good history.Does anyone know of its whereabouts??.
Also deceased my fav car ever R5 Gordini HWR644T,Been off road since 2004,Celica ST185,R19 16v,Rover BRM,Pug 205 GTI,Sierra XR4.I would love to have my black phase 1 back, was looking at another Saab Aero,or celica. However I think in the coming months a 21T is looking fav again.Have a work van,so will be a weekend toy.
There was a guy in Bradford who had a hoard of cars, had a few 21 spares off him, also had a very tidy Quadra, think his name was Richard?.My appetite is back for a 21,be more grief off missuses, havent met one yet, that gets Retro cars:ireful2.gif:

Sorry mate that plate isn't familiar. Suspect it'll be dead and buried, the attrition rate over the last five years has been horrific!

I know Dave,i got it from a guy called Andrew in Heywood nr Blackburn. The yard was full of retro Renaults Fuego,15s,5,11,21s GTA etc.The car was very tidy, with polished phase 1 alloys and black leather interior, manual boost control and dumpvalve.I had a Radcliffe racing ECU off LEE[LA21T] which I never fitted. What are you looking at for a presentable ones, with good wheel arches,Tax and Test???,I want one before xmas.I paid 600 for mine, and sold it for 900.

Its funny but out of all my old cars, the only one left on the road was a K-plate Clio 16v which seemed to out last all the others. Last time I checked a few years back it was still going, but looking on DVLA now they have no trace of it!

I know mate,i was looking on fleabay the other day at Clio 16v they have completely died out, ditto with old MG stuff :secret.gif:mmm, shouldnt admit that.I had a Maestro Turbo, wouldnt mind another, lol.

Wow. Mastro Turbos were rare enough back when they were actually new, let alone now. Cant remember the last time I saw any sort of mastro. Saying that I actually saw a Montego Turbo a few weeks back. I hadnt seen one of them in about 15 years and there it was driving along in front of me.

There was one on ebay the other week Montego, been In storage years wanted 5.5k for it:negative.gif:.Maestro was on at 2.8 k on.I had them all years back, was only 505 Tickford Maestros.Nice 5 by the way, never had one always bottled out of ownership, should of had one years back.I saw a Charade GTTI on gumtree in Sheffield that was 1600 quid, they wer always rare.Think FUEGO Turbo rarest I had.Glad to see people are keeping them alive. How common were all the XR Ford models, and Astra GTE,all nearly gone.My first car was a Manta GTE 400 rally rep I had in Germany in the forces, give my right ball to own that again lol.

.How common were all the XR Ford models,.....
All those fords were common as muck back then. When I got my 5GTT, there was only 2 in about a 20 mile radius of where I lived and yet every man & his dog had either RS Turbo, Saphire Cossie or XR3i/XR2. And yet, look at the prices of those common as muck fords now, they seem to be rocketing up much quicker than cars which were much rarer. Strange really!

I agree Ford stuff silly money,i come from Bedfordshire originally, and used to deliver Fords for a Demonstration fleet in St.Neots, was fun caning the arse off them inbetween sites, nearly put a brand new RS fiesta through a hedge, when the torque steer caught me out!!,I always loved the Sapph cosies,XR3,XR2 were rife with squaddies but a bit lame.Is Rushden still like the town time forgot?,used to go with my dad To Peter Crisp tool place,in 80s was like a town still in the 50S LOL.

Couple of K for a nice one.

That's not to bad, about what I expected.Probably going to move back down to Leicestershire next year, around Hinckley area,Lutterworth etc.So wont be a million miles away from you.I do want one in near future.

Rushden is a dump mate, probably hasnt changed since you remember it. Im from Peterborough and only moved here a couple of years back. Its a really weird place, its like some zombie town. Everyone looks like they have walked out of the Return of the Living Dead, really rough, imbred looking. If you see a good looking bird its like "wow". Whereas in Peterborough nearly every other bird is good looking - mainly cos they are all Polish though.

I used to go out in Peterboro a lot in late 80s,Best mates dad lived there after divorce.Botolph arms outside town.then used to go to The Attic, rave stuff at time. Was a big club that had lights that went up and down between floors zeebede style,Queensgate centre etc, etc.Bedfordshire was the same, hence why I left lol.How long have you had the 5?.

Ah The Boltoph Arms used to be one of my regulars, very nice pub. They are a Samuel Smiths brewery and their "pure" lager just tastes awesome. I used to always call in their on a cycle ride out and have 4 or 5 pints to "rehydrate" then cycle back home.

Had this particular 5 since 1995, so coming up for 20 years now I guess! Had 2 others before this one too.

Yep it was a nice boozer,in its own grounds, sank many an ale in there, halycon days. You have it bad with the 5s then,i nearly bought one 5 years back, very quick, had been tweaked, paddle clutch and rust round windscreen put me off.I would go for a Volvo 480 Turbo engined one,if memory serves basically the same engine with 1.7 top end clutches better as well??.

I should be going there next week and know the guy that runs Renault Turbo Spares if you want me to have a look if he has any 21's in?

Hi mate, yeah I would appreciate that.Andrew was a good guy,the phase1 I had off him was a good one.I was going to have an ex hillclimb car off him after that, but my ex threw a major benny over it,and that ended that.Remember they had a nice RD500 LC, and Alpine GTA inside. It was Great Harwood,my mistake.Last time I went it was 2009.
