Gone but not forgotten
Just noticed I haven’t ever done a thread on my other r26r. It’s prob as I never thought it would stay, but due to time wasters and dreamers it’s never sold and I use it most days
So, #63 in Nimbus Grey, or Gris Makaha.
She was quite rare as apart from the colour she was supplied New with no cage
Owner 1 bought it from renault,
She got used as a training aid for a drivers club and used by auto car to compare to the new 265
Then around 2012 it was bought by the owner I bought it off, but I think it swapped between him and his son. During their ownership it wore the plates

Then in 2021, having not long bought my lunar, I was on collecting cars
It was quite cheap at the time so I threw a cheeky bid on thinking, I’d be outbid.
9.30 the next morning, a lovely lady phoned me up to arrange my auction fee payment and put me in contact with the seller.
And as we where in lock down, transport arrangements where made and home she came in March 21.
I did my first track day at Oulton Park in summer 21, I took @rogerreno with me, and due to being me, suffering badly with migraines and anxiety, he did most of the driving (aren’t I nice, not many people would just lend a r26r out for the day) but it did make him go and buy his own r26 track car
Since then I’ve been chasing a few issues. Most of you know I love Megane 2, and have had everyone of the megane 2 rs range, and this one just wasn’t right. It even gave me a migraine at donnington; so 5 laps, in, throw up, back out again.
But finally, after having a poor map removed that had mapped around a faulty knock sensor,
, and correctly fitted the exhaust that had been bolted to the wrong part of the car, I actually managed to get a track day in at Oulton Park where all I did all day was lap. No one could believe it!
So, that’s about it. We’ve done about 2000 miles in, coming up 2 years. Mainly on track. As these cars should be used.
