Did another Ringtrip. Friday and saturday track was damp/wet, which was interesting in some places to say the least. Partially dry track is really tricky and having a bit off oversteer in Bellof S while doing 170kmh was not on my agenda.
Sunday track was dry but very very busy, traffic around the entrance was a nightmare. All in did 8 laps, car did great. Only somehow the AC stopped working before the trip home. Seems as the pump wont turn on, so might just need to be regassed as it's been 5 years.

Running into some aircon troubles. At the last Ring trip it suddenly started blowing hot air. When turning the AC off and on you can hear the pump disengange / engage. (other then I previously stated)

5 years ago I had the pump, condensor etc replaced, then 1 year later the pump died which was replaced under warranty.
So like 4 years ago a new pump was put in and airco worked flawlessly ever since.

Thought i'd get it regassed as it's been a while. 250 out of 550 was still in the system. Unfortunately after regassing it's still blowing hot air. No faultcodes in the system so my guess is that it's not the pressure sensor, but probably the pump?

So:
- Pump engages when turning on AC
- Interior temp sensor reading 24 degrees so that's normal
- No pressure sensor fault
- System regassed (550g) and keeping pressure

Any ideas before I drop it off to get it sorted? (and probably spend another fortune on a new pump...)

Photo heavy update. Went to Scotland with a few mates to do the NC500, Isle of Skye and some other nice driving roads anywhere near the route. So something like this:

Took ferry from Ijmuiden to Newcastle, and from there we drove through Cairngorms NP over the Old Military Road to Inverness.

2nd day we drove from Inverness to Thurso. Not a very exciting day driving wise. Had terrible weather as was foggy all day, so didn't really see anything of the surroundings. Duncansby Stacks was very nice though.

D3PDMQz.webp

Next day we drove to Stoer, northwestern part of Scotland. Weather was good, mostly dry and no fog. Very beautiful scenery! Did stumble upon some really bad roads and one of the guys had a nail in the tyre. Luckily a local boat/tyre shop had it fixed quickly so back on the road quite fast.

Day 4 we drove to Applecross. Unfortunately one of the 3RS Megs died on the way there. Fuel pump gave up, called every Renault garage and parts company in the UK, but no stock anywhere within 4 days, which would be to late. Had to leave 1 car behind which got picked up by the insurance company. Applecross pass was really nice to cross, beautiful scenery and the sun just peeked over the hill when we arrived at the top.

Day 5 was Isle of Skye. Think we did all roads we could find on the Isle. Beautiful scenery, driving wise it's a bit crowded, but there were some small roads that we're empy, with the single lanes you just feel like doing a rally stage when doing some spirited driving.

Day 6 we drove past the Glenfinnan Viaduct and Glencoe to Tarbet. Really beautiful scenery aswell, and decided i'd try to recreate a scene from Skyfall.

Day 7 we don't have any photos, but drove through Galloway Forest Park via National Cycle Route 7, where we didn't see any cyclists. Beautiful road! Really a joy to drive. After that we drove back to Newcastle to get the Ferry home. Whole trip was around 3400km! Megane almost performed flawlessly, window motor decided to die just before we had to get on the ferry. So on the Subway parking lot we took off the doorpanel, got the window out of the frame and closed it with tape.

All in fantastic trip! Beautiful country to drive through. Shame some roads are really terrible, all cars need a trip to carglass to fix the windscreen. Next weekend another trip to the Ring, and then it's almost time to put the winter tyres on and think what upgrades we're going to do this winter.

Lovely part of the UK, I lived in Brora for a while but was back when there was very very little traffic or any speed cameras. Some epic roads amd scenery

Great pics and road trip 👌

Who upgraded to the aston on the last pic? Assuming it is 🤔

Great pics and road trip.

Some great roads in Scotland. Agree on the terrible road surfaces though!

If you fancy another road trip over here, Wales is excellent and slightly better condition roads. I done them in my clio trophy a couple of years ago.

Great trip, give Pico's Mountains a look, Northern Spain, if you haven't already, bit damp later on in year, few squeaky bum moments.....

Yeah Wales is definitely on the list to do a similar trip sometime! But first I think we're going to discover some other parts of Europe.

Haven't been there yet, but looks amazing!

We're headed to Italy next year, and then across the Alps... can't wait!
Italy has amazing roads! If you come near Turin, try the Col de Nivolette. In my opinion the most beautiful road out there. It's this place from the first post in this topic:

Week ago went to the 'Ring for one last time this year. Only did 3 trips this year, think I managed 22 laps total which isn't that bad. Not sure how many trips i'll be able to get in next year, as there's a little one on the way. So Megane will not get much action in the first couple of months of 2025.

Need to get some stuff fixed over winter. Windows on both sides need some maintenance to get them going well, and it feels like i've got warped discs, so need to get them machined as they're to expensive to just replace. Then it's MOT time this winter but not expecting anything, car feels great.

Hi all.

Been reading this forum for a while, thought why not post something about my own Megane. I've had it for almost 5 years already, and in these 5 years tons has changed and lots of fun KM have been made. Here's a quick overview of 5 years of ownership, i'll try to get everything in there.

Bought it like this, was stock bar a weird exhaust, some gauges on the dash and a shiftlight. Came with an OEM Renault sideskirt from the factory.

View attachment 216341

Got some 18" PH1 wheels, fitted winter tyres and a skibox and went to Austria.

View attachment 216342

Got new Cup dampers with Grams springs fitted

View attachment 216343

View attachment 216344

Did a roadtrip to the Swiss Alps and the Dolomites with some mates. 3300km combined.

View attachment 216345

Guy in a Camper thought it would fit, but it didn't.

View attachment 216346

Got it fixed and had the sideskirts removed for a cleaner look, also fitted ph2 lights meanwhile. (My 106 Rallye in the background, sold in 2021)

View attachment 216347

Had some time off so reupholstered the headliner and a/b/c pillar in alcantara

View attachment 216348

Got a Clio 3 RS wheel retrimmed to match the rest of the interior. Can also see the new gauge pod on this photo.

View attachment 216349

With some adjustment, got some Vauxhall Corsa OPC seats fitted. These match nicely with the blue details in the Trophy interior. Sit 7cm lower then OEM seats, so seating position is way better

View attachment 216350

Fit Meg 3RS Calipers with 2-piece 340mm Godspeed discs and PFC Z-rated pads

View attachment 216351

View attachment 216352

View attachment 216353

Did another roadtrip, to French Alps and Italian Alps. 4200km combined.

View attachment 216354

R26.R wing fitted

View attachment 216355

Fit an GTPerformance intercooler and new headlights to freshen up the front end.

View attachment 216356

Then had the chance to buy a barely used set of GAZ Gold coilovers, so got those fitted. Then got car cornerweighed and aligned and it handles like it's on rails now!

View attachment 216357

Didn't like the headlight washers so had blanks painted and fitted these for a cleaner look.

View attachment 216358

Bought some track wheels in France. Compomotive MO6 with some AD08R tyres. They will get repainted eventually.

View attachment 216359

Then I cracked an bebop, which made the tyre deflate very slowly. Good reason to buy another set of wheels. Ended up buying brandspanking new Braid wheels in 18x8, ET50.

View attachment 216360

Did some track sessions on Zolder which was very wet, but also a lot of fun!

View attachment 216361

View attachment 216362

View attachment 216363

Ofcourse also had to do multiple trips to the Ring. Loved the car, handles so well. Just lacked a diff.

View attachment 216364

Then had an R26 box fitted over winter, which made it even more fun and even faster on the Ring. Eventually finished of the AD08R that were still on the Compomotives.

View attachment 216365

Then did lots of laps on the Braids with PS5's fitted, which also worked really well. Both in the dry and in the wet.

View attachment 216366

More Ring trips. Had an Ktec 3" exhaust fitted aswell as I started to hate the one that came on the car.

View attachment 216367

Fit an PH2 Lux glovebox with a nice grey colored strip. Also did the Cockpit with alcantara and fitted a black Megane 3 rear view mirror. Just need to do the surrounding plastics in black.

View attachment 216371

Did a crazy 5200km roadtrip with 2 mates through Norway. Loved it, what a beautiful country. Beautiful roads and the scenery is just something else.

View attachment 216372

Added some brake ducting from the foglights with dome Duct3d ducts.

View attachment 216373

Then did some more Ringtrips

View attachment 216374

Cracked a brake disc on the Nordschleife. Not sure why it happened, read about it online a couple of times. But discs were 2 years old and had lots of abuse. Will upgrade those over winter again. Ordered 2-piece 355mm Godspeed setup and new Pagid RSL29 pads to try those.

View attachment 216375

Didn't want to spend €350 on a JBL Bass Pro Hub, so bought a Bose Subwoofer from a Talisman Estate, adjusted wiring so I could connect it to the amp in the boot.

View attachment 216376

Testfit with one of the trackwheels. Fits perfectly, will change the location of the amp when i make a new floor for the boot.

View attachment 216377

Changed winter wheels to Autec Wizard in 18x8 and ET45, looks way better then the Ph1 wheels.

That's it for now. Some more updates will follow soon :)
Would you recommend the Godspeed front discs and bigger calipers? Need to replace the discs all round so just looking at the options. Cheers
