I'm able to do it for you but take a bit different approach to SC. Afaik he uses the Clio loom and changes it for the Megane engine, i use the Megane loom. Plusses and minusses in both options really
Dont think its the ecu as Ive tried another ecu and still the same. Im getting it delivered to SC autos wednesday so hopefully should pick her up again Monday and then take an easy drive back.
Seems strange that two ecus would do the same thing?
Reminds me of an old work van, wouldn't rev higher than 2.5k unless it was moving, stop you reving while stationary and wheel spins, could still get your drift on so seemed pointless :bd:
Wiring can be a nightmare and why I pay Scoff to do all my wiring on conversions. Not only is he a Jedi knight but far far quicker
May need decent auto electrician bod but its finding one you trust to be able to do the magic without coating the earth
I have all sorts of fun with vag ecu's especially the tfsi in a non canbus loom even silly things like leaving ecu as a dsg will work but kills power on manual shift at high rpm and gives strange faults sending you round the houses etc etc
Right haven't updated this in a while. This is mainly because not much has happened with the car. I havent seen it for 4 months and Steve has checked everything he could possibly do. new loom, ecu, sensors and more. Seems the problem could be trickier to fix than first thought. Therefore the car will be either transported back home for me to try and fix or another option is to deliver it to RS tuning to see if Paul can figure it out. This makes sense as he is only 1 hour away from SC autos rather than 4 hours back to me. If he fixes it I could then get it mapped at the same time to make sure its safe. Ill be phoning them in the morning to discuss whats best to do.
While the car has been off the road Ive decided to strip the old engine and gearbox so they can be used should something go wrong at a later date.
After looking around, the car has gone to Andrew at clio turbo. They worked on it Friday and Saturday and managed to resolve the electrical fault of the throttle not opening at all. Car is still running stupidly rich. Ignition and valve cam timing is spot on so which leads on to the possibly of an existing map already on the ecu causing it to run rich ie mapped for 630cc injectors , they said they were going to check that today and tomorrow so hopefully I'm not far away from having my car back. Top guys at clio turbo.
