5 GT Turbo Carb cleaning

So i have a few gtt solex 32dis lying about that need rebuild. Most of my carb rebuilds have been function over looks over the years, So bring on some experimental pikey cleaning methods.

Take one totally knackered carb that was given to me a few years back. Everything is seized so nothing to lose (never seen one as bad as this)
Acc jet totally stuck in and throttle spindle stuck.

Take 1ltr of tesco's finest pine cleaner 30p (they use dettol on the bike forums)

Soak for a few hours (seems to be doing something!?) Lot of sediment in the bottom

Cool. I use vinegar on rusty steel, interested how the pine cleaner does with an alloy carb!

Would also be interested to see the results of Coke? That's supposed to be good also isn't it?

Vinegar would work shit hot, got to be slightly careful as its magnesium/alloy mix as far as i know. Anyway something is happening, ill leave it overnight

Worked pretty well as good as carb cleaner in a can. All the old petrol/shite etc went pretty soft and just rinsed off under the tap. Used a kitchen sponge and cillit bang to scrub it a bit. Managed to get the knackered acc jet out and idle jet came out as it was stuck in the body. loads of shite around the emulsion tube when removed. I dare say the carb body will go again now its clean

I used vinegar it cleans but also attacks the metal I have found
