21 Turbo Amrits Red Rocket

Well ............ done over 2K miles now & car has done well including the drive in France....
Water good
Oil good
Boost good
One slight problem...... Battery light flickers on / off ...... I'll get alternator reconed.....
:ay:

I can honestly say after all the stress and cost and headaches and drama the relief that it did the thousand mile round trip without major issues was tremendous! We had to tweak the wastegate down slightly as it was tripping the boost cut (oddly enough Lee's was doing the same... ) and then the alternator has started playing up....pretty much the only thing in the engine bay not yet replaced yet. It got there and it got back though, and seeing Amrit gain confidence in the car was great!

Excellent, I would use the Like button but instead I will post a generic reply.....

Out of interest, Amrit vs Lee... how did the two cars compare?

When I got a new alternator for KOR a while ago I was sold one from a Renault Traffic. Apparently exactly the same apart from it uses some more heavy duty electronics so it's more durable - and it cost something like £90 about 5 years ago so not horrifically expensive.
Got it from these guys in Coventry - Startermotor Alternator Centre | Starter Motors, Alternators, Batteries and Air Conditioning | Parts Supply, Testing & Fitting Service West Midlands

Ok...... Thanks for the info.......:ay:

The 110a one from an AC 21 Turbo....I did tell him this at the weekend but as usual, in one ear, out the other :D
Thats the one I have and if it fails I will just get that rebuilt. Its about £40 for a rebuild down here.

I'll second the above!
I've been mildly quiet/concerned about the engine and its performance. I built it back in 2010, but its done what it was built to do! :ag:
I have to say I was gutted it missed the big 300bhp by 4hp! But with the short time Scoff has had his hands on it, he's worked miracles!
Originally it had made 309hp@22psi, on an engine dyno, but that was 10-14 hours mapping over a couple of days!

With a chargecooler (?), and the RR has a smaller exhaust (2.5" after the downpipe) and was mapped on a hot day.

To be honest to get a car on an open air wheel dyno and get within 4% of a sealed cell bench dyno numbers is bloody brilliant.

A rs500 intercooler and just a downpipe lol
