Oh and I also remembered to but the fitting for the Fuelabs fuel reg to connect up the pressure reference to the manifold, which I did, and it works but only after I trimmed the back of the fitting down! Nothings simple!
More done over the weekend, was hoping to do a very short test drive but a small modification to the wastegate housing didn't work out right and I need to get a teeny tiny tweak done... no point reassembling to take it back off again.
Anyway, heat shield and brackets fitted up, rad secured properly and looking for a new coolant pump relay solution too.
Also extended and connected the reverse light switch.
Oh and the downpipe was ready to be wrapped but the ties were too fricking short to get around the 3" pipework. Goddammit!
Seems some weekends just dont work out to plan, I bought TWO fuel injectors for the 172 Wednesday, one brand new one used & cleaned to be sure I'd have one to fit this weekend. Both next day delivery.
The new one showed up....didnt fit, the pricks.
Used one didn't show up in time...the pricks.
Fucking car industry is a raging joke at the minute, service levels are absolute bullshit.
Finally got round to reading the full thread! Good to see another going back on the road, despite the woes these cars bring!
Regards the ph1 flywheel for future, the ecu can be configured to suit without a trigger wheel.
Regards your relay issue, can you not just use a setup like the gtt anti percfan, temp sensor in the turbo heatsheild?
But not if you want wasted spark you have to retain the distributor (or use the 60-1 OE dizzyless flywheel).
XRD talks to the Standard ECU via the XR25 port so wont speak Adaptronic, not that you need it to because the phone app is a million times better anyway.
