Sam
Thanks for the comments, I am in a little bit of a quandry really as to where I am going with this car. I have always wanted a Turbo 1 or Turbo 2 and just as funds become available they shoot up in value and are out of reach again. So i considered the conversion myself, and have made progress with engineering drawings for the chassis rails etc (with the help of Mydrian), and started to purchase original parts but the reality of it is that it is a hell of a lot of work(which I dont mind) and a lot of money to get it right, and it will always be a copy.
So I looked at the Groupe 2 and taking on board comments from guys on here and a little research I opetd for this option, but I have never intended to build a rally car as I have been there and done that so wanted a classic retro car for weekend fun, but as the shell is stripped I have taken the opportunity to strengthen the shell, and now I am considereing a roll cage and well you can see where this is going, however the car again is not N/A and therfore never quite as per spec, but nevertheless a turbo version would be nice I feel.
It would make a nice hill climb / spint car, So I will probabaly progress with a roll cage, This will when I ask him be made by ( hopefully)a good friend of mine at,

Brakes, I would like to use vented discs on the front with coilover shocks, and bring it up to spec without it looking like an out and out rally car, the intention is to paint it fairly low key in a pearl white with dark arches, orignal turbo stickers as per the Turbo 1 and the alipine stickers. I have never seen a group 2 in this colour scheme and quite fancy the rarity and the clean smart look.
I don't know enough about the rear arms and would be interessted in knowing more about what your dad did
Thanks
Gary
