Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

WOW its like a new car again, hello Mr limiter 😂

I can confirm that the new pump has cured another issue i didnt really notice. I have lots of power and it revs right round now where I used to shift when the power felt like it was flattening out. Clipped it a few times this morning without meaning too 👍🏻

Found this awesome comparison video randomly on YouTube.... showing what an old pretty brisk Tuned Twingo GT goes like against one with a bigger engine in it...

The seagulls at work made it look like the twingo had been at a bukkake party so I gave it a clean down. Looks OK but could do with a professional going over. I absolutely hate cleaning cars, so much effort. It always looks red in pics too, though it's more metallic burgundy? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I spent some time putting together an intro vid for the Twingo, just trying to cover a lot of the questions I get asked regarding it and giving a little bit of info if you wanted to do the same/similar thing. Its long and poorly edited and probably misses most of the info you want but here it is, don't lay on the hate too thick (y) (I've never tried to edit a video before, unless I can fix it with spanners or a hammer its hard work)

So here's a fun PMT fix after my driveshaft issue. Take one £13 clio mk3 dci shaft and strip it down, rebuild it with a 172 outer half shaft but dci spider and voilà one shaft thats looks pretty suitable. It needs bolting up with a 172/na/f4r support bearing as the one for the f4rt/197/bigger gearbox sits too far from the block. I do need to shave the block a touch to miss the inner cv boot and give a little clearance as that's super close. But Renault parts bin special looks to have saved me getting custom shafts made too 👍🏻😎

pics are crap.

First pic is GT shaft, dci shaft and 172 half. Second pic is the GT shaft and the hybrid.

Confused the hell out of me reading that!

Just been out for a blast in the Twingo as it hasn't been driven in a week. Picked up a misfire 🤦‍♂️could be the common water down the plug hole issue, that's tomorrows job sorted (y)

|It's almost like they designed it like that. Same as the 197 scuttle drains that block or the washer jets leaking directly over the coils.

I've added some speed holes...... well its more a hope it may help, the back on the car gets quite light and skittish at speed, the last car I had this on was my old supercharged Clio which could also do double motorway speeds with little effort. I did it to that, and well I think it helped. The hope is some of the air will be able to escape rather than catch in the bumper. Don't think it can make things worse. I'm am looking to do a flat undertray/splitter for the front soon to also smooth things under the car. Ideally id like to chop out the spare wheel well and put a full diffuser on the back.

My Vee suffers with a light front also, despite being undertrayed all the way back. Apparently a lipped splitter at the front helps, I've bought one just not fitted it yet. Will let you know if it makes a difference!
Excuse to get the "cup" spoiler now!
What rake angle are you running?

Not easily, can definitely make a front undertray with incorporated splitter easy enough. It gets convoluted to do the mid section and rear though.
