Clio Adeys Clio 182 with added F4R+t content

Does anyone know if we can upgrade to a modular ECU keeping same loom/plugs etc ? Like a plug and play replacement ?
You can upgrade to modular use your loom change 2 or 3 wires from memory but the maps won't work as they work differently on the modular I've tried before.

@James5 feck thats quick on usb. i need that in my life.

on the serial it looks to need an external power source to the ecu and it takes about 1.5 to 2min to pull the file and open up wari. yours was seconds!

Serial runs at varying baud rates from 9600bps ( BITS per second ) to around 115200.

USB can run at upto 480mbps ( 480 MEGA ( 1000 ! ) bits per second.

Thats why its a bit faster :)

The usb powers the ECU via the laptop or PC what ever you use.
I always had to power the ECU through the normal loom for serial, even with a USB converter into the PC. I can't remember if I ever tried a 420 series like this though pretty sure I always used the USB port.

Adey, might be an easy repair, when I fitted my ECU I noted that the USB port might be susceptible to the cable being banged or vibrated a lot and it might upset the solder joints, I put a shield over my connection and tied the wires down so it wouldnt vibrate. It may well be just that someone has bashed the cable.

Depends which modular you go for. The M1200 shares the 420d loom but the M2000 upwards doesnt.
It shares the same loom the m1200 but you have to swap a few wires over which isn't an issue but the map file itself will load up but it won't work due to the way the new modular run. I had a discussion with Andy at adaptronic on it and we tried to convert a file and still didn't work.

I will start a poll to see how long Adey keeps the car.

I am going for a week, tops.

Now nearing 10 months, im getting itchy feet..... Ive been offered an 09 plate 35k mile twingo gt (1.2 turbo) for the clio... tempted?

someone talk me out of it?

Just been out and checked the oil, it needed topping up, so topped it up.... not much else to report

it'd be boring and slow compared to a stock 182 to be fair. I did have one new back in 07/08 and enjoyed it.

Shes gone.......

Though something might be up. 2 hours after the car going from me, after being my daily beater and hack for nearly 10 soild months the thing is tapping its tits off......... like the dephaser has fully failed or the timing has slipped ffs.
