Epic fail is it that bloke who fucked up cam timing on facebook? The bottom pulley doesnt slip unless incorrectly torqued up on stock engine.
...and it must have a NEW BOLT every time, they are a stretch bolt. Also genuine are much better quality and the washers are thicker then non-OE. I suspect issues are mostly going to be due to either torque like you say, or re-use of bolts.

Tjere is a spec for reuse of the bolt, I stopped measuring after about ten of them as they were all within spec. The crank bolt.of the wife's 172 has been retightened about 5 times so far and is still goimg strong. I must do belts on if though as they've been on now for over 100,000 miles as well.
