Speedo fixed. After using a multi meter to see if it the speedo was receiving power at the clocks and at the plug in the bay(which it did), i had an idea. I plugged in my top speedo cable to a new lower cable i had and with the ignition on i waved a metal bolt at the sensor and the needle would jump. So, the top cable was ok. So, it could be the sensor in the box, but it was reading a good resistance.
running out of idea's i took the speedo face off and moved the needle, to realise it was really stiff! I free'd it up, exercising it back and forth....and now the speedo works again!
