3 Door 5 Campus

Took it out on my private absolutely not the Queens Highway test track today, pleasantly surprised how well it went, pulled uphill Ok.
Brakes need bedding in, not much bite, front nearside sounded a bit grumblery, sure that bearing felt OK, only thing I can do is get it tested and get some miles under it's belt, snag what's needed.
Couple of better pics.2019-06-21 112909-3001073.webp

Thats looking tidy mate...whens the turbo conversion? :)
No time soon, need to get his test passed and get mobile, his first leason is this coming Saturday, see how he goes.
I'd love to drop a TCE in it, 150 with a little boosting a la @Adey , keep it light as feather, I think kerb weight for a Campus is about 720 so it'd be lively at that.
Perhaps a snidey 1.4/ 5 speed would be best at first, I could keep that pretty secret.

Great choice. I actually said the same thing last night to someone else, get a clean campus and either tce or f4r swap it 😁

I'm not sure many about that are good enough to put the work in, not cheapies anyway, odd ultra low mileage one turns up, but later Romanian ( or whatever they are ) seem to rival early cars for rot.

5 has been sat out waiting for me to get round to testing it, but it's been at back of queue as bike and Megvan come first, plus looking at new shit to add to collection, and as we've had a bit of rain it seems to have sprung a leak into passenger front footwell, coming down from bulkhead, soaking rubberised sound deadening.
Doesn't seem to be doorpost area, more central, I haven't had a good luck, just thought someone may have pointers, there's a hole in centre of lower screen where join is, thats awaiting attention, but that goes in bulkhead wiper void......so I'm not sure.
Side drains are clear, so don't think it's getting in round heater.......dunno.....?
Any opinions?

Case solv-ed....probably
Pissing it down, so I donned coat and pulled carpet out of way, and followed wet sound deadening to left hand side of passengers bulkhead, only thought was screen surround possible rot covered up by seal ?
Took jack out and contoured my head so I could see under screen from bonnet area, there it was ....drip drip from a pin hole....although it doesn't look like rot, which then fell on dealer retro fit rear wash wipe hose......that was drilled thru bulkhead , hole just slack enough for water to wick down it into car......only happens when screen seal is proper piss wet soaked, pouring jugs of water on that area did feck all.
Pulled hose into car , plugged hole with a grommet and some red grease, see what appertains

Just after a year the sack of shite rolled off the loader............

Last tested three years ago advisories 'ago ago'............... after Turbell attention, straight through this time , not an advisory in sight........well pleased.
Drives quite well, furthest I've been is mile or so to test station then long way home, GT struts make front end much better than rolly polly 5, most cars on here have more power in their starter motor, but thanks to a kerb weight not much more than 700 kilo, its goes well enough.
I splashed out on £23 worth of discs and pads as APEC pads on car had a fanny pad on the backing which made the brakes feel spongy, so I've just broke the bag of sand budget by about £50 now.
Get some miles under it's belt, use it as much as I can and see what/if anything needs fettling.

MOT tester commented on where it had been stored as there was no rot or rust on it, which pleased me no end ......repairs must be neat enough and treated well enough for it not to look like it's had all the work it is has.
Thanks for reading, and all positive comments.

I'm in discussion/awaiting pics/going to view some early 80's French plastic joy, early days yet and it's a slow simmer, which suits me as I've odds and ends to tidy up.
I'm a bit lost tho'.......nothing meaty to do............pacing round ...........hands in pockets.......flicking kettle on......have a biscuit...........look on ebay.......fucking nutter!
