Thank you! Your car sounds like it has 9 lives! I'm very interested in hearing how it was repaired after those accidents...
Update from me today. The engine and box are out. Head is away at the engineering shop. Right hand side engine mount does need renewing, I have one on order!
The rear brake hoses I ordered were too long (aargh) so I got them cut down and new ends fitted by Rally Design. Only trouble is the ends are not exactly the same. I have no idea I'd they'll fit the brackets or not!
The right hand side strut top bearing is definitely broken. It has a bit of metal sticking out of it! My garage has had to borrow a special spring compressor. I had heard that it was a Renault specific tool. I'm just lucky that my garage is well connected and they know who to contact.
Both gearboxes are being dismantled and I am really hopeful that a good one can be built from the two bad ones.
As far as the clutch is concerned, I have an early phase 2 pedal on order (this will allow me to keep the foot rest, I believe) and a used bleedable slave cylinder and a repair kit for the same on order. Now I am just missing the master cylinder but I am hopeful that I have found one.
One of the braided oil feed pipes needed cutting, so I am very pleased that I bought new ones!
I am also delighted to tell you that all the exhaust studs have been removed and none of them snapped! Eat your heart out, Dave!
I am very impressed at how organised the garage is. All the parts are labelled and pushed into bits of card and stored in the boot!
The rear diff weeps oil but I hope it's ok!
And yes, mine is dizzyless Ph3
