5 GT Turbo The winter project. EFI and lots more

What top mounts are you using

They look like TAS Motorsport top mounts however I think that firm closed some years ago.
I have a set however they are only for phase one shocks, but apparently can be used on phase 2 setup with some modifications.
Compbrake offer some very similar ones http://www.compbrake.com/product-category/cars/renault/5-2/

A bit of digging reveals that the staff that worked for TAS have set up on their own with 2 separate companies...

Great result Clarkey. What's the torque curve like?
According to EFI Parts facebook update, it has useable power from 3000>7000, which is immense. Would love to see the graphs (hint hint :) )

I would bet my bottom dollar thats going to go like a scalded cat. Scoff transformed my car from a quick motor into a weapon of mass destruction in a two hour mapping session....luckily most of the setup I did was OK and he just got on with mapping it. Great bloke, fair prices, very patient.

I'm really interested in Clarkey's setup as I have a lot of the parts (VNT, EFI) and want to see what works and the real world advantages from Clarkey's point of view. I'm in the middle of rebuilding my engine and would like to take advantage of the opportunity while I can.

My VNT is not the same (GT2260V), but I'm sure it can make the 200 bhp mark and with the drivaebility of the EFI I hope it will worth the effort?

Only thing that puts me off VNT's Woz is the absolute ballache of setup. If you're prepared to take the pain of that then it should give you a huge useable powerband. As Clarkey said above, easier with an ext.WG.

Not bad, comes in very early, had full boost at 2500 at one point.
Didn't think that would be good on a race car, trying to go round a corner :)

Certainly takes some time, dialling it in for your specific needs. definitely go for the external wastegate, the spikes are huge!!
We are at Brands Hatch on Thursday, so will let you know how it goes.

Well not a good day.....
Only did a handful of laps with brake and a misfire, then got pulled off track for exceeding noise limits.
Searched all day for the misfire as only on two cylinders when we got back into pits.
The loom had melted due to heat from manifold.
No closer to seeing how our new set up performs sadley........

Not the best result, but better on a track day than a race! Does the car sound louder to you? Maybe you'll need a resonator to take out some of the bite?

What's the fix for the loom? Is it a case of a re-route or maybe some heat resistant sleeving?

I am still voting for modification of screamer pipe to exit under the car not back in the exhaust..
Its loud, and awesome, but the car very easily suck up fumes into the car!

Not a great result Clarkey but thats why we go testing. Similar has happened to me too, lots of effort for nothing but a kick in the teeth! Whaddya do though....suck it up and get on with it :)

Would never get away with it mate, look good though.

Didn't notice any difference in the car, Jack said it was louder, could hear me from the garages. could even hear the turbo :)

Yep all part of it Dave.....just would of been good to get some laps in to compare new set up.
None the wiser is so frustrating!!!!

Clarkey, what Turbo and Actuator are you running?
The turbo is a VNT from a 2.5 v6 diesel, not sure on the actuator, we have changed it from the one pictured to another with a softer spring.
The Tial external wastegte has a 1.5 bar spring and works really well with the VNT, catching the spikes.
