5 GT Turbo The Bogey

Hi James,

I have competed in hillclimbs and sprints for the last 4 - 5 years in a gordini turbo. With regards to the "rules" its only if you start beating people who are spending loads of money getting other people to setup their cars that you start to run into trouble most people are very friendly and helpfull and are just there for fun.

Often as long as you dont advertise the fact you are in slightly a "grey area" there isn't a problem. When you have a close look at alot of the cars you realise some are more legal than others!!!

Which championship are you going to run in?

Thanks for that I thought it might be the case!! Pretty sure that the old Escorts never had coilovers from new but you don't see many competing without them!

I have no idea which Championship I would run in, any advice would be great, I was going to join the HSA and see where it went from there. Total new start :)

It really depends where you live in the country as to which championship you join. ACSMC & ASWMC, http://acsmcsite.wordpress.com/category/speed/, http://www.aswmc.org.uk/hilclimb.htm.
Both have some really good events in the south as do the HSA. There is also the Midland speed championship.

Lydden,
Goodwood circuit sprint,
Wiscomb Park,
Gurston down.
Ellsmoor,

Are just a few of them all of which would really suit your car. A renault 5 Turbo 1 competes in the Wiscombe park hillclimbs.

Thanks very much for the links fella I will have a look. It's just a dream at the moment but now the car is more or less ready it could be a goer :) I have a Snell helment, need some stickers for the car (ignition off etc). Need some overalls! They look expensive

Just flipped through that thread.....WHY didn't they Turbo that thing! #FAIL

The Spanish Fuego build? I think that is what this guy is saying...

"FELICITACIONES LOCO!!! INCREIBLE LABURO...Para lo que necesiten, avicen, saben que tengo repuestos varios de motor, si bien son originales, quiza algo les sirva... "

"Are you serious man!!! INCREDIBLE you didn't pop a turbo on that thing. Are you not a man etc..."

as your front bars are out, fancy measuring them for me....? :)

What are you after, Adey - just the length end to end? Or diameter....(No smirking at the back there!)

I think I've found a sump baffle btw....from Mecaparts. Google translator is great isn't it....

Cut off date between imperial (3/4") and metric (M20) thread is one month before the registration date of my car :S

Reminder: find some colder spark plugs like B9 EFS

edit:
went for Valvoline VR1 20w50 for the engine and Millers EP 75w80 for the box...the thing wasn't designed with synthetics in mind so no need to start now. Plus some sparking plugs of the above flavour in 8 & 9 heat range
