5 GT Turbo Start off the rwd 172 twin turbo 5

If you pull this off it will be pretty epic

Twin turbo sounds good and so does twin charging.....

Twin turbo will still make all the power high up, unless one of them is smaller as mentioned....maybe hard to get set up right on a DIY basis?

Twin charging will be easier to get bigger boost with less expensive items - plenty of M45 chargers about. Boost will come in low down...in fact it will be there at idle unless you sort somekind of bypass/pulley clutch arrangement out. Compound charging can make the charge air very hot...chuck some nitrous in there to cool it down.

Hats off to you sir for starting

Twin turbo is much less efficient than single turbo, just buy a proper turbocharger and it'll do the job!

Good luck with the rwd conversion though! I've been doing it to mine too but decided to do something else, something different:grin.gif:

It's not about the performance...it's about doing something different! :)

Sorry to say this, but this has been tried before with limited success and huge expence, Im not saying it can't be done, because it can - see lancia for compound chaging porn. Handy Andy has spent vast amounts of time and £££ to get this to work well and has opted for a single massive turbo in this exact same application with great results. Please try to get it to work as it has the potential for great things.

Ihave to 2nd the comment that you may need to get the likes of Scoff and Adaptronic on board with this as these 2 could be the answers to all your dreams.

Good luck with this, you're at the beggining of a great journey.

First let him get the engine in the back and worry about the engine later!

I came a pretty long way but decided to do something else in the end...

Still undecided wether to extend the shell 5-6 inches, a lot more work but might be worth it

Project looks good mate :drinks.gif: I'd extend the wheelbase instead of the shell, and then the track, but it looks like that's already happened at the back, I look forward to see how your going to do this twin turbo setup, have you got in mind how it's going to work? I.e one turbo on two cylinders and the other turbo on the other two? Keep up the good work :yes3.gif:

To be honest I'm winging this project , just doing it as I go, with the turbo it's going to be 1 turbo per 2 cylinders, and it's only being done for something abit different, and hopefully I can get the fabrication to look good as well as functional
