Silverstone Classic 2022 (26th - 28th August) - Enjoyed by all those who were there

I'm booked now.

Can I just restate my earlier position from last year - the entry ticket prices for this event are absolutely scandalous and the only reason I am coming is because [mention=4264,#0000FF]rustedandrotten[/mention] asked me nicely!

I’ve always thought the opposite. Lots to see & do (bang for ya buck) and CCD packages are approximately half that of the gate-paying visitors.

I would agree that the package costs have recently been rising faster than inflation, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the gate prices have been too…

Agree. IMO, Silverstone Classic is one of the best motorsport events in the UK, if not the best, and the value offered by the CCD packages that we get offered to us continues to be excellent.

As an example, I recently purchased one ticket to attend Goodwood FoS (on Sunday, 26th June), which cost £86.50 for the admission ticket alone, and then a further £86.50 for a pass to the performance/supercar car park so that I can drive in, park up and amble into the main area (didn't fancy parking up miles away and walk). So, it cost grand total of £173 for just one day, whilst two adults can gain entry to Silverstone Classic over 3 days, drive right in and park up in the infield area for just £143. Further, IMO, what is on offer, and on show, at Goodwood is not as diverse as what one can find at Silverstone, except perhaps for the rally stage at Goodwood, which I quite like. I am sure you can compare and contrast both events and come to your own conclusions, but for me, there is no comparison, both from value for money point of view and/or the diversity with regards to what is on offer, not to mention the wheel-to-wheel racing that goes on all day and, for those interested, the live music played on stage late into the night.

On another note, if anyone is looking to trailer their car or drop off their Vee on Thursday (25th August) evening, which is what I will be doing, you will need a 'Setup Pass' and wristband each for your passengers.

Please drop me a PM with the following info:
1. Your name, mobile number, and the number of wrist bands required.
2. If applicable, the registration number of your tow vehicle or, if you are looking to drive another vehicle into the infield area to drop off your Vee, the reg. of that vehicle.

If you use a trailer to transport your Vee then you will be able to park the trailer overnight in a secure location, which you will be informed of when you get the setup pass and wrist bands. Both the trailer and Vee can be left parked overnight until Sunday (28th August).

Our display patch is located in Green Zone 15, just opposite the area set aside for the James Bond display, Lewis Hamilton's championship-winning F1 cars, the Adrenaline Zone, Foodie Fest (which includes a covered seating area, picnic area, and various street food stalls) and Diddly Scott Farm Shop (Jeremy Clarkson's concern) - wonder whether JC will come over to reminisce about the days when he reviewed the Vee on Top Gear. It would certainly be a fun conversation to have, and if JC does turn up, we ought to ask him whether the Vee still features in his all-time 10-car garage!

Our location is also very close to the Main Stage where the performances will take place every afternoon until late on all three days. It is going to be quite fun and lively...
