Silverstone Festival 2024 (23rd to 25th August) - UPDATE

Hi Ian,
I'm now coming in the Lotus rather than my Vee, so obviously won't be showing that on the stand.
I therefore have a spare infield show pass for the Clio V6 Owners Club. You are more than welcome to use it, however I note that it states my registration number. Not sure if that would cause issues.
Let me know if any use.
David

Hi David, that sounds perfect, I don’t think they look that close at the tickets, if anyone asks I could always say I have changed the registration number. Can you email a copy or can we meet on Saturday morning somewhere?
Thanks, Ian

Disappointed to report that I too have some changed circumstances.
I'll still be attending Fri-Sun, however not with the Vee. Despite frantic last minute attempts at alignment and balancing I still have a worrying vibration from the front at 65-75mph so don't think its wise to attempt the journey down in it.
Will be sure to pass by and hang out despite no Vee.
Look forward to meeting new and old faces.
Regards
David

Simon Hope thinks he knows what this issue is. He has asked me to PM his newest phone number.

They can rehash display passes at the front gate office. (I think the stewards just look at the zone colour.)

Funny enough, I did this when I last-minute switched from V6 to BMW one year. The ‘Tea & Coffee’ are very good at BMW but the cars are boring. One guy rocked his ‘520d Touring’ on to the club display because he was ‘a paid up member’.

This is the reply I got from one of the minions at Silverstone and their may be no guarantee so I would rather have something in place.

It is now too late to make any changes to to your pass, the only thing I can suggest is to come and see us on the day and we may be able to help with a spare pass to use for your Clio but I can't make any promises I'm afraid

I am still waiting for a response for another email I sent after this reply. They don’t mind taking the money but are about as useless as a chocolate tea pot.

Thanks, Ian

I will PM you a photo of mine for reference. Acquiring MrBlueSky’s is a good option. I’m semi-certain that the office will oblige any changes - but better safe than sorry.

Unlike in past years, I believe it would be best to use a display pass designated to our club that shows the correct display zone and area. The vehicle registration can be crossed out and another added without an issue.

The rules changes for 2024 has been particularly challenging after Silverstone took over running the event themselves (from the events company that did so for at least the last 10 years).
As such, using MrBlueSky's display pass is definitely the way to go.

Hi guys, the pass I have is for block number 20 BMW, we are 19, I may be able to sneak in with the pass I have but as you say a valid one would be ideal,

Didn’t think of that option - but yes, makes perfect sense. Same entry point. :approve:

Hi Ian,
Sorry for slow reply, was working late last night and early start this morning.
Happy to meet you on Sat to hand over the pass.
If you pm your phone number I can send you a photo of the pass as well.

Cheers Simon,
I've booked the campsite so just going to park up there.
Will speak to you about your thoughts on my wheel wobble.

Have a great time all. Gutted to not be attending this year and also not seeing Kett Ph1 up close. Look forward to plenty pictures! :approve:

So thankful to those who swiftly provided some much needed shelter on such a wet day!

Sadly it was just too difficult for me so I wasn’t able to stay very long. I do hope tomorrow is much brighter for you all.

The damn tickets App nonsense was dreadful, and I was aware of just how annoying the arrangements to have car clubs there has become. I really got the feeling that car clubs are not so important to Silverstone now. :(

Discussions will soon be had regarding the club/forum, and future events.

Big thank you to the great guys who dealt with Silverstone this year.

That explains a lot.

Good to finally put a name to the face James, even if we did have to swim there!
