Losange Passion International - Saturday 29th June 2024

I have written to the club that is working in collaboration with UTAC (where the event is taking place) to help me secure a club stand, track time (or how we can get it as a club, may have to apply individually but thats ok) and any upfront costs associated with this.

When I hear back I will further update, hopefully before the end of this week (Friday 2nd Feb!).

😍😍😍

Right, after continuous back and forth with the organisers they have confirmed that track time is sold out.

Their response back to me was that we should have applied individually and if we wanted to join as a club to enter through the main organisation (who conveniently managed to secure 30 track slots), except they have not replied to any mail I've sent in the past 4 weeks other than that generic reply I shared. I even managed to find a contact number which led to a colourful conversation with a very excitable French person.

Therefore can I ask that everyone wanting to go to apply for a pass via this page, it will convert to English.

It goes without saying that I'm hugely frustrated and equally disappointed we haven't been able to secure driving time on the circuit. There was a small glimmer of hope when they mentioned a possible 6 spaces but that beared no fruit.

On a slightly positive note if there any cancellations prior or on the day, we have a good chance of getting on the embankment 👍

Again, sorry for the disappointment 😭

HINTS/TIPS/POINTER and just for information...
1. Recommended hotel, which is not far from the event that has underground parking - ★★★ Ibis Montlhery Paris Sud, Montlhéry, France
1a. If continuing on to Germany, plenty of places to book in Adenau - Blaue Ecke is decent, great breakfast
2. Book ferry or euro tunnel in advance as possible - there are hotels near Dover if you wanted to break the drive up
3. Before you head into Europe - consider how you want to pay for the toll roads, if you sign up for this tag it'll save you fumbling around at the booths - Emovis Tag UK
3a. As well as toll roads, you need to consider the clean air zones, take a look at Le site officiel de la vignette Crit'Air (certificat qualité de l'air) - Ministère de la Transition écologique
4. There are a couple of Routes to the hotel, on the last trip we avoided the central ring road but we can negotiate this closer to event
5. Dont forget your GB plates, usual European drivings necessities etc - MAKE SURE YOUR BREAKDOWN COVER IS SUFFICIENT
6. Make sure your insurance covers European driving - it is default for some but not for a large number of providers
7. COMMUNICATION - On our last trip we used radios to communicate between all us, great idea and something we definitely need to do again (and no, there was no QRA sortie deployed to take us out)! Similarly if people are convoying, maybe downloading the Life360 app will come in handy because it will track your movements and anyone you wish share them with (parents will know what Im talking about if you have school aged children walking home )
8. Do not forget your passport (maybe this should've been No.1?)

I'll add more stuff as I remember it.

Anyone else note the track day at the Ring on July 1st?

No Ring laps unless we leave mega early on Sunday morning driving to Germany...

My other proposal was to take a trip down to Millau Viaduct...the world's tallest bridge and sublime feat of engineering (yes, I love a bridge 😬).

Fully open to other suggestions too but if the Ring isn't on the cards, we can go and watch but it's not the same is it, happy to expand the trip taking in a bit of culture or draw it to a close after LPI has concluded.

So where we going after monthery then guys..
Wil it be germany... no ring but fun b roads or so ...
Or are we going to normandie then..

So, Friday morning crossing and head across to [Ibis Montlhery Paris Sud] Friday daytime, few drinks and some food, Saturday the event itself, back to the same hotel afterwards.

Sunday, leave around 9 and head over to Mont Saint-Michel (the castle) about 348km/3.5hrs and have a nose around there in the afternoon, grab some food and a hotel in the evening, then Monday up to Gold beach 147km/1.5hrs for a look around the stuff there then food/hotel, late afternoon/evening head up toward Dieppe 130km / 2hrs and overnight there, Tuesday morning swing by the Dieppe RenaultSport (Alpine) factory and then up to Calais 176km/2.5hrs for an early afternoon ferry back to Blighty.

Anyone fancy it?
