Clio Ricardo's Liquid Yellow 200 EDC

Yes Paul is the man to see. He might have already updated it as i know he flashed Shez's megane with the latest firmwear when mapping.

good stuff, one of the new trophies pulled up outside my house today, was in white and from the rear didnt look too special, the front was tidy though. I think the yellow really makes them stand out (y)
Cheers Buddy, I do like the Trophy but yeah in a way if I put the Trophy 18s on my old white Media Nav it's not far off the same looking side ways.

I couldn't afford the Trophy price but feel with the map and Cooksports its given me more power and torque and the stance.

Picked up the mats from my local Renault dealer, should go well with the red seat belts and interior trim. If it wasn't for those 2 items I wouldn't have been so keen on the red trim on the mats. In the car park was a Megane Trophy, the photo makes the colours look different so it makes me think it's not a liquid yellow but didn't look like say a Sunflower yellow like the old 172s. So another wash and hoover out this weekend then I can fit the mats.

Took it out for a drive as I finished work nice and early. Using the paddles a bit more so I get to 'control' what gear to be in and when. At least when coming to a standstill it drops automatically to first then I just blip through the gears whenever I like. Sounds nice in RS mode on downshifts.

Epic pics !

Is there any chance I could have a few of the originals you have taken so I can update the pictures on the background chooser ?

How are you finding the flappy setup compared to a manual now you have had it a while?

They are bloody good at what they do but do still feel a touch left out sometimes with the extra pedal missing......but this could just be me fighting development still lol

As I am turning to the dark side with the 5 setup and dsg

Pics looking good with new setup!!!

Motorway driving is a no brainer as it stays in 6th gear, it's when you're driving round town or the local area. At a certain speed you want to be in a certain gear, it's obviously gonna choose what it should be set to so you have to override it with the paddle. In auto mode it wants to work its way through the gears quickly unless you put your foot down then it holds out that bit longer.

It's more a case of me still getting used to it, and telling myself to just override auto with the paddles whenever I want so I can be in the gear I choose to be in. It's my car! So being more assertive with it knowing that yes it's an auto but the beauty of having the paddles lets you decide what to do when.

I think without the paddles it would be a big loss. RS mode is a different story, everything becomes quicker, more focused. Like you can't really out think the box so you tend some of the time to let it get on with it. You also again have the paddles to override the gear selection.

You can have a third option and go full paddle so it's completely down to you, then hit the RACE mode which deactivates traction control.

So, an early start hence the photos as I was booked in at 8am for the EDC transmission software update. About an hour in the service chap calls me over.

"The senior technician has done all the necessary software uploads which went fine, the next step is for him to take it out for a couple of miles to let it all calibrate to the new settings"
"Yeah that's fine let him crack on"
"That's the problem, he's 23 and company policy states all technicians and employees have to be 25 and over to take the car out on public roads. He can't finish the software update. "

So, as I mentioned it's an oversight on Renaults behalf that they should have booked in a technician that's old enough to complete the job. Now it's booked in for next Saturday at 8am, for the slight inconvenience they've taken 50% off the cost of the job. It's a good job I only live 10 minutes away otherwise I would have asked for petrol money too.
