Defo swung the Man Maths calculations in there šŸ¤£

Should have come back out when I got on it later on, different animal with all the driver aids turned off (y)

Next time for sure.

The R26 was the same, turn off the driver aids and off it went like a scalded cat!

Urgh insurance renewal time. Has everyone else's jumped up again? Did the usual ring around as I thought my renewal quote was high, had one company telling me that I did too many mile (13k) on a modified daily car and that if I wanted it less than Ā£700 id need to drop the millage near to 7K.... nearly all quotes coming in between 7 and 8. Rang back Brentacre, asked them to add a further 3 points on, expecting it to jump again to the 7-800 range and they still kept the renewal price at just over 500. So that's where we are at, another year of cover in the Clio (y)

Mine jumped a bit (~20%) but then ive added an SP30 for 3 points and an MW10 for another 3 points since, so it was expected.

Want some vids of basic maintenance and upgrades on your Clio 4 RS? check out this playlist. Sparkplug changes to hybrid turbo fitting and brake upgrades. Even a few track day vids in there too. If there's anything you want to see let me know and ill see what I can do to add a video. Don't forget to like and subscribe :D

Car is still doing the business on the daily commute. Decided to order up some mk5 RS (line) seats. They aren't a million miles off from fitting. My drivers seat is showing its age a little, 2015 and over 100k on them, these seats were from a 2023 car so should have some decent life left in them. The colour matches, just need to wrap them up to fit properly. The runners on them are longer than the mk4 items, so I may just make the mk4 runners fit the mk5 seats (y)

Also bit the bullet on some compbrake top mounts, fingers crossed I get them here for the Christmas break so I can get them on too (y)

great watch if you like the geeky side of stuff. Chris at EFI parts wasn't wrong when saying I was out of hpfp on the car

Ive got a b58tu pump sat in the garage that im looking to fit up in the future. Should potentially unleash a few more ponies :D

Not done much on this, still waiting now 5 weeks (yes I know Christmas hasn't helped) on some compbrake top mounts, I ordered them through K Tec... when will I learn... Every single item or service I have had through them has been nothing but problems.

Anyway I digress. The front brakes have gotten squeaky at super slow speed, probably the pads, but with having some free time I removed the pads clips and pins, cleaned them up, cleaned the callipers, gave everything a clean with a coat of wax and slapped them back together. Cleanest things on the car šŸ˜†

Seats swap has stopped, they need a decent amount of work to fit even though they are very close, shame really as they were very comfy but I want a factory or direct bolt in fit.

I opened the bonnet, engine and associated parts are still there and still doing the business (y)

6 weeks from ordering the compbrake top mounts through Ktec and still cant provide an ETA on delivery. I've now asked for a refund.

I swear customer service has gone out of the window these days. Is it just me or am I stupid to expect better? I don't feel I should even have to chase for an update on an item that's listed for sale on a website, just note on there if there is a wait and the consumer can make an informed decision on the purchase.

On this occasion I was emailed to say there was possibly a 3 to 4 week wait but it should be sooner. If you cant hit that timescale for any reason you should surely communicate that without being chased?

urgh

I haven't seen 1 person say they have had good service when ordering from k-tec.

Never bothered with them myself, usually only use their site to see how much cheaper it is when I buy elsewhere.

Same. Expensive and rubbish.

Adey I have emailed Hi-Spec twice and called twice about bells and rotors for the 220 - not heard a peep back.
Messaged 2 other places too - nothing.

Put a prop in for rebuild 2 months ago he hasnt even called me with a price or assessment.

(saying that)
Autodoc have been great all around
Big shout to BG Penny powder coating in Coventry too, and Coventry Motor Factors. All awesome.

So... slightly chavvy update. With my front splitter I've always felt the side skirts looked too high compared to the front of the car. I've always snubbed people like Maxton for there extensions thinking they were some vacuum formed plastic that wound break at the first instance, and for being a little "Halfords" looking. Well it turns out they do a less aggressive, smooth looking kit called the street pro. I ordered them and was massively surprised. Milled from some sort of abs plastic, solid and in this case made from 2 pieces joined together to give the correct profile to fit the oem side skirts. Fitting is super simple and imo improves the look of my car. I highly doubt they add anything to the car and is purely aesthetic.
