Megane Ricardo's Budget Track 225

I would do the full lot before mapping, intercooler, decat, exhaust (if it does nto already have one) then get it mapped on 630cc injectors. Goes so much better (y)

If you are going that far , grab a 250 turbo as well. So , so much smoother power delivery.

Somewhere along this journey "Budget" definitely needs to be removed from the thread title..

You can pick up the bits 2nd hand for reasonable money :) seen loads of decats for sale. You could lose the rear silencer on stock exhaust to keeep costs down, seen loads of modified stock systems for sale cheap. Mapping is always going to be a biggy but got to be done right..

It's something I've not really planned for. I still need to finish off a number of small jobs which should be done by the time Blyton comes up, everything would have to be sourced 2nd hand if I went down the route of more power.

Finished early today due to rain, I arrived home to have the head unit and MP3 lead sitting in the porch. A big thanks to @andybond for posting out the head unit and tray, highly appreciated and beers winging it's way to Blyton :)

So I popped over to the Megane to try and make sense of having the headunit work, I pulled all the connectors out from the centre console area to which 2 fitted in along with the aerial. With the ignition then on I assumed the top console would show the 4 nought digits asking to punch in the code like the Clios. Alas it didn't, it just showed the time and the temp, again assuming then that the Megane is different to the Clio. I have the code to hand and know how to install but there's no option to put it in. There's also connectors loose on the loom that I can only assume might be available for a 6 CD option as my DCi Megane has one fitted below the head unit. The headunit beeps when you press certain buttons but there's nothing showing up on the display. I ended up unplugging it and putting it back in the box. Also, the MP3 lead that should plug direct into the OE headunit doesn't seem to fit either.

Digging around the toolbox I also found this Cup tow ring which I'll modify to make work for the Megane.

As you are not getting anything on the display ( I would expect something as well ! ) have you checked fuses ?

Just been reading that it might be an idea to leave it plugged in for 2h as it "pairs" itself to your car. Dont know if that is rhubarb or not.

Absolutely nothing, just the time and temp. I can certainly go back, plug it in, check the fuses and leave it for a couple of hours. I'm heading back out so I can do it then.

the code also has to be entered in via the steering controls , not the front fascia.
Yep but there's no way of knowing what digit it's on, you have to scroll through with the wheel I believe but there's no way of knowing... I would have thought it would show 0000 on the display then you scroll though to enter the 4 numbers. Well that's what the Clio display shows... Unless that part of it isn't plugged into the headunit.
