Can anyone help, after having my rear beam powdercoated have found that rear bushes need replacing.

Does anyone know any other Renaults which use the same bush or any supplier I can get them through.

On looking online - nearest ive found seem to be clio phase 1 or Renault kango?

Cheers

Try Simon, Mingblus on RTOC, I think he can get them.

Yes for the torsion bar. I believe there four bar ones. However new arms from renault would set me back £600 - there's got to be another option. I've got both arms off.

I have no idea where the £600 would come from a very quick check today both arms are appox £165 each +vat, Haven't checked on the main system for avalibilty but will do if you want me to next week
Will need fab number of vehicle to confirm part numbers.
Another alternative is to get a company like Vibratech may make some?

£600 was what renault quoted. According to old dialogy part numbers are 7700754220 @ £218.97 and 7700754221 @ £128.28, one side £100 more expensive than the other.

How hard a job are they to chance? Can they be done on a normal wheel bearing press?

I had some sleeves made up and converted the bushes to bearings
From memory it cost about £80 is quid few years back
Here's why I never took it any further
I've only done about 1500 miles on them but the difference was unreal as my bushes were absolutly knackered
Due to the limited mileage I've done I can't guarantee how long the bearings will last however as it's about a fiver a side for bearings even if I had to change them every 10k or so it wouldn't bother me (8k in ten years)
Renault 21 bushes can be made to fit but are about £100 a side and need modding

If I remember correctly when Fish Head replaced the arms on my beam he said that he had to use the press at a lorry garage. So I am guessing a normal bearing press may not be up to the job.

They were a right pain in the day to change in the aloted time with most it taken up with removal.
But once removed & surfaces cleaned /prepp'd you could use a threaded bar & various bit n bobs to refit.

I need to change the rear torsion bar bushes on my Renault 9 Turbo. They are royally goosed on one side, it's actually loose.

D-reg, 1986....so they have been there 28 years.

Thats going to be THE shittest job EVER! Axle off I think.
