So today has been a good day, poped over to a friends to borrow a torque gun, fitted the lowering springs to my shocks (won't last long but will see me through until coilovers) got back to my house and the cracked on with fitting them. Had some help from the daughter with passing nuts bolts and tools so that was good bonding time too . Was going to start on the front brake conversion but found the callipers to be knackered. Decided to keep the stock ones on for now and revisit at a later date.

So front wheels back on and dropped to the floor. Looks cool but way to much rake going on. Will need to hit the back end with the lowering stick next

Just managed to sort the rear out, the easiest and cleanest torsion bars I've ever seen. Came out with minimal fuss. Not going for hard slam so this won't look that much to some (@sukhi) but down a nice amount to not raise too much suspicion.

Today he's been a good day and I think I'm now ready for a short road test. Just need to insure and tax her before hand.

Needs a few touches really, I have a gtt dash clocks to go in but that will require a few hours of rewiring to get them to work. Carb also needs a rebuild and it has a big Venturi on so tempted to sell it off and start again with an oe sized one...

Cheers for the bits shoppers much appreciated. Got a rebuild kit here I could try but never been a fan of the bigger Venturi stuff

car tax and insurance sorted this morning, if the rain holds off ill finish off the last few little jobs to get her driving and then begin with some road testing.

I could do with ordering a new front plate but i want a replica of what i have?

Also sent some pics of the rockers over facebook after a video of it running was posted and there is a chance theres a non standard cam in the block, the nuts are almost out of adjustment? Will see if i get it in the dyno someday i guess (y)

quick test drive with next to no boost and the lumpy running from idle isnt clearing. will look at replacing the plugs leads and dizzy and rebuild the carb. i think its carb related though looking at the black soot that comes out the exhaust and the fact the needle jet is having no effect on its idle quality....

Started stripping the carb to find the old skool way of doing things, 150main 100 ac jet and what looks to be stock enrichment with a bored out Venturi

ive had a few people contact me on facebook regarding it since poping a pic up, saying the same (y) will see if i can get it to run the car ok for now

Spent some time today finishing off and testing the car. ive put about 5 miles on her and all seems fine. Boost is low, id estimate near stock though its enough to light the skinny biscuit tyres up on boost in second, makes for comedy driving lol

only a few niggles, not having a working gtt dash in but without the gauges it makes it a yet more interesting drive not being able to watch the temperature. Ive also got what looks to be quite a heavy gearbox leak.... i havent pin pointed it yet but it looks as if its coming from the 5th gear cover. will defo need looking at soon along with some new rubber and i need to stop the exhaust banging on the sill. For now its fun, i will try and use her for the commute this week and get the de laminated windscreen swapped out in the works car park. I will get vids up soon

That air-filter could do with moving mate.

i know buddy, was a quick slap on to get it running, will move it up to behind the light. Ive added the intercooler shroud now so i can direct some cold air towards it too.
