5 GT Turbo Renault 5 campus.....for summer boostings

Yep you would still have pressure somewhere near even with shite oil. With it been so low when cold i would say its time to get your hands mucky and investigate:]

Pulled it off, very scored in my opinion what say you? It's worth noting that the oil did come out in about 30 seconds!

I've also just done a spot check on a rod bearing by removing the cap. I've refitted by cleaning off and using assembly lube then re torqued, I have it that they should be at 33lbft? Is that correct?

what you guys thinking? ive found a complete refurbished pump on CGB's website, they also sell a cheap one but i think it the campus pump? should i buy it and slap it on and go from there?

Will pull the prv on the old pump tomorrow and see if thats stuck or anything. Im reluctant to slap new innards in the housing due to the scoring in there

Cheaper pump is from a non turbo model and generally frowned upon, numerous horror stories over the years. Personally I would go for refurbished over one of those.

refurbished gtt pump ordered(y) will try and find a magnetic sump plug too on the advice of others

So where did we get too? since this last update I have rebuilt the bottom end and slapped a piper 270 cam in place. still running fine, a little tappy but just needs some setup. I cant remember all the posts that were here so will just throw some pics up at some point. She made it to retro rides gathering in august too so was really chuffed with that and she gets the occasional run to work and back.

the old bits that came out of the bottom end were fooked. required new cam (270) all new shells and new crank. also a green box clutch was fitted as the original supplied one was slipping like mad on a t2 before the low oil pressure killed that off too. Ive lost a fair few pictures of the build but all went well, all bits supplied by CGB with no issues.

just been out in the campus, first time in about 4/5 weeks i think. what great fun, defo needs some new tyres though as shes lane changing on boost, quite violently actually. boost looks to be lower than i remember. will try and get a wideband on and use her for work next week. still sub a bar of boost and goes like crazy, lag slag turbo and 145wide tyres arnt helping much lol

Good to hear it's getting some use after all your hard work. Took mine out for an hour or so today once it dried up a bit, was spinning in 3rd and 4th in the damp whilst a non turbo'd scooby tried to race me.
