5 GT Turbo Renault 5 campus.....for summer boostings

@Andyquadra has done several now with no issues.
Yep, I've done loads of T3's and T34's, also done a T28 for Mr Bond I think. The T28 came apart with giant circlips
Just looking on the bay and it looks like there are 2 different sizes of journal bearings you might have in a T28. Which ever size you have, the rebuild kit in under £30, but I'd always recommend adding a staggered gap rear oil seal again under £10.
Turborebuild.co.uk also known as turbo spares on ebay have always been good for me

unfortunately upon testing today the hg and or liner has let go :ireful2.gif::bb:

This morning i fixed an air leak, calibrated the wideband sensor and took it for a run. Super rich on part throttle ( in the high 9s and low 10s) to 11s at cruising speed. At low boost low revs she was 12ish, and then about 12.3 at 1.2 bar of boost. TINKLE TINKLE let off lots of smoke, and then 3 cylinders doh.............. group a carb strikes again.

im guessing its going to be a bad one due to the fact i heard it over the exhaust

little lost with this now and am really unsure of what i want to do next.

Not good, you have certainly done it right!

Only one thing for it - vag the dirty little bag of garlic hatch

I only last night have a tt rs engine ready to go into something non tt, something brigsy would relate to in the vw format though

Oh my days............best sounding engine in my opinion. My office is just down the road from the McLaren dealership in Hockley Heath, I get all types of exotica past my office on the corner of a country B road on test drives. Above McLaren is also this...............http://www.rybrook.co.uk/specialist-cars/

Ironically, the car that makes me look up is the lucky bugger up the road with a TT RS who always pulls out and gives it some beans past my office. it sounds awesome, I want an RS3 or TTRS based on the engine alone.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck Ade..........

Don't buy that car when he sells it #thrashingitfromcold :dl:

True, just effort i didnt want to put in as im lacking time these days. Weathers always crap too, so no doubt ill get soaked working on it.

Probably will do that though it does look like a proper job type with the brass insert in the venturi. I think I can jet it to suit especially with having a wideband hooked up now

I reckon i could get it to fuel OK at wot, but the cruise is far too rich and you will not be able to pull fuel out at cruise without compromising wot. 9 - 11 afr's when cruising are borewash territory - get it gone and see better fuel economy, better fuelling, same power with stock Venturi ;)

Got a spare hour this morning so pulled the head off to check out the damage. Head looks good to go just need to clean it off and verify with a straight edge. Slight mark on the piston that went but no cracked liners that I can see so hopefully all re use able with a gasket set. If anyone spots anything I haven't speak up (y)

yep hopefully, will check the heads straight and order a new gasket and some headbolts. Local factors cant get much in for it anymore.

Hmm how deep is that det explosion mark on the head not sure I would be happy with that as it may not give a good seal on the new gasket, what boost you running @ manifold ? and what's the depth of that head in total

Block looks ok I can't see any issues to pistons or liners just be concerned about the head indent maybe a skim would suffice if head depth ok

there's no mark on the head at all buddy, the pic is the gasket? that was 1.1-1.2 bar manifold. it went a little lean on a test run and went. the dark patch is an oily thumb print. i think its all oem though and was starting to weep at the front of the head.

If it's defo only oil mark, as say just clean up, make sure flat and put new thicker mellior H/G and 12.9 bolts and away you go again. :)

Defo no big dent it in, odd as it does look like theres one under the collapsed fire ring. Will give it a good clean later on hopefully. Head is roughly 73.5mm in height, will confirm when i find my decent rule. Struggling to find a local supplier for the mellior so if its defo the one to go for ill have to find it online and order.
