Renault 11 Turbo Phase 2 Restoration

What an absolute B*llened, your a bigger guy than I to take 1k on the chin but you've done the right thing getting it home safe, I personally wouldn't let it drop and would sue him for the way it ended and waste of your time but as many of my family would say, I'm an argumentative bar steward when the other person is in the wrong I wont let it drop

For now atleast id close the door and leave it locked till January, have a good chrimbo and then approach it with fresh eyes and hopefully enthusiasm (something I hope you haven't lost with this whole debarcle) set yourself a new budget, set yourself a new end goal, it might be lower so you can use it or it might be higher (concourse?) so you can make this whole wait worthwhile, either way its 100% worth doing and you've achieved so much so far it would be mad to give up or settle now

Good luck with it

Thanks @Metzy :friends.gif: you've summed up the situation perfectly there mate!

We discussed this a lot on the TR group chat and assessed work done against whats been paid and with what he was asking for and what Steve offered and was accepted we reckoned Steve took a hit, granted, but for maybe a few hundred not a grand. Its not like NO work has been done.

I reckon Steve did pretty good to come out of it this well, even if that is taking a hitt. The guy was a total fucking ass master so to walk away with the car intact without legal activities or violence is about the best ending you could have hoped for.

Been watching a few episodes of Car SOS in the lead up to Christmas.... and dare I say I can feel the slightest twinge of enthusiasm coming back to me about this sh1tbag of a car :grin.gif:

Had an idea to finish off the whole underside of the car myself in the final Silver and fit the brake and fuel lines etc, before it then gets painted on top, so I don't have to turn if over agan after it's been painted and risk damaging the paintwork?

Will probably do a bit of research on what I'd need to achieve that..

Makes sense steve. Expect an update on progress boxing day.
Well @DaveL485, as requested I'm giving you a progress update on Boxing Day...

I'm pleased to announce that I've now decided to tackle the underneath and inside of the car myself when they weather warms up a little later in the year.

Other than that, the car still sits in my garage looking forlorn.. :ak:

If you need help with anything steve I don't mind driving down one weekend

Really glad you've managed to get this back - looking forward to some progress. I had an 11T exactly the same as this and sold it at about the same time as you would have bought this ! E877 JDL.

What happened in the end about the council garage with all your bits in that got hit?

Thanks for the vote of confidence @Neal R19 (y)

The Council garage saga actually ended as a bit of a damp squib! The Council turned up and re-build the wall and fitted a new garage door.. and none of my stuff went missing! So overall a big WIN! :)

When the local pikeys cant be bothered to steal your crap... that's when you know you store junk!!

Only joking Steve, am glad that bit was sorted and had a little result out of it
