Remember that you can fit the new seats and subframes without removing the undertray, you can do it from inside the car.

Inside the car fantastic news, I thought I was going to have to get underneath. Are you bolts easy enough to get to then?

Matt are you using the existing Clio runners then? Leaving only This Part in the car? Which you then bolted a subframe too? Which subframe? and does the handle interfere with the seat?

Hi,

I took my whole OEM seats out complete with runners that bolt on the floor. You can get to the bolts from inside the car through to unscrew them then bolt the new subframes and runners in place.

Hmmm... well I think i've had a pretty good look down all links etc.. and cant see the size anywhere. I can tell you its the two brown colour wires to bridge and NOT the black one..! lol

Must be just about every other detail and senareo there.. just not resistor size.. :(

I can always measure it when the seat are out. Was just trying to be prepared..

Thanks for the help guys! Much appreciated!

As Matt pointed out, we now know the resistor size to be 3.3 ohms, and that he did end up wasting 40 quid.. lol ;) Sorry Matt.. ;)

Who ended up wasting £40? I got the resistors from Maplin when fitting mine. Think russo or mossy told me about them.

I'm still unsure how this works, one all three clios I've changed seats in, they unbolt from underneath, surely if you can take them out from the top.. Where do the nuts under the car under the grommets go to? And how do you get the new seats tightened??? Lol :s

I've done 2 Clio's this way. Captain was the one who told me about it. The OEM seats are bolted to the floor you can unbolt these and then drop the new subframes on to the bolts and tighted up from inside the car.

You have to first remove the screws from the back of the centre console (bolt at back)
This allows you to lift it and to get at the seat bolts.
Unbolt all of them and you can lift seats straight out.

Any more info on this please? I want to get my seats out to give the car a good clean.

I take it you mean lift the carpet?

I did it guys, so no myth about it....

no need to lift carpet. From memory and this is going back a couple of years:-

0. Disconnect battery
1. Unbolt centre console at the back
2. Lift so you can remove seat belt pretneiosners - remove plastic covers from the sides of the seats
3. This gives access to all 4 bolts under the seat on the seat rail
4. Unbolt these (bolts come up from the floor of the car and are bolted in from inside via a socket (12 mm I think)
5. Disconnect airbag connectors
6. Lift seat/s out (careful not to scratch side sill)
7. New subframes should drop straight over the bolts that are left
8. Screw down and refit new seats on to them

Bolts are visible here (Not sure what size socket it is)

Voila. Trust me I did it and it was so much easier! :salut:

Sceptics! :)

Sounds easier to just do it from underneath, 2 screws... Let undertray hang down, 4 bolts each seat and lift out :approve:

Haha.... Your words not mine Matt! Lol

It was in my thread from when I fitted mine to the previous car. See my first link ;)

Just been up in the loft where I've stored my old OEM seats.

I still can't see how I could of taken these out from the inside.

This the the bolt from the bottom of the runner unbolted from the outside underside of the motor.

And this is the top of the same bolt which is would be seen inside. It's got a round head and welded to the runner,

Danny check the rails in the ebay link I posted above I suspect they are hidden behind the grey/blue plastic covers

Interested to find out how you get on Iain, what seats have you gone for?

To me it's still impossible to get them out from inside when they are bolted in from underneath... Lmao
