Recaro's

Hi all

I've been thinking of putting some trusty Recaro's in the vee. I know finding a used set is not going to me very easy and the fact by car has only done 8000 miles means I want them in really good condition. So I thought maybe the way to do it is to buy a brand new pair of treadlines.
Here's my questions...
Does anybody know of a good supplier. Ie good price?
Also I will need subframes, I guess I can get them at the same place but would there be any difference between Recaro' frames and the ones used in the Clio trophy?
And I'll need the air bag resistors. I'm expecting somebody on here will have an answer to this or say a name of somebody that has some in a drawer somewhere.

I'm guessing they go up and down in height adjustment the same as std seats. This is pretty important to me as the position I use to get my wheelchair in and out is low and seat right back so it's differnt to my driving position.

Cheers in advance

Ian

Hi mate google capital seating, I've ordered 2 sets off them now, and they can supply frames and resistors etc too,

Clio trophy frames look slightly more oem but finding a set is going to be uber hard, without the seats being attached to them, and usually out of a written off trophy so won't look brand new...

Scott SG Motorsport is a reseller for Recaro, he supplied and fitted mine. They go up and down etc

Is the the OE or the aftermarket frame? obviously id want the most OE look. Incidentally I found a used set of Accord Type R seats on Ebay, maybe worth a punt for somebody that is also looking for a set?

One of the things I'm looking to do next year. Out of interest James are those electric? Do they work? Think they're the 'sportline' as opposed to trendline from memory

£2k roughly isn't too bad I suppose, might see if someone crashes a Trophy between now and then ;)

Also as I'm pretty new to the fold, I know Nick Trott had sportsters in his. Straight forward fit? Some of the 197/200 boys always seem to have some up for sale.

Cheers

The regular 197 and 200 sportsters do not fit as came in a complete unit with subframes. Have to buy the separate for them to fit to standard recaro subframes. I bought a set and was gutted.

Don't forget Meganes! I got a set from a full Lux pack Megane

I ordered a pair of Trendlines and frames from GSM (www.sportseats4u.co.uk) back in September. You will be looking at an 8 week turnaround time. GSM quoted an estimated 25 days - Having been eagerly waiting for over two months they still haven't arrived. I hounded them for a few weeks and they are due to arrive with me this week. Their communication skills are not brilliant, but I just want the damn seats now.

For the purist OEM owner, it may be worth noting that the after market subframes and the OEM Recaro subframe, fitted to Clio 2 from new by Renault are slightly different. The subframe sides on the OEM frames are sloping/chamfered as seen on the 182 Trophy where the numbered plaque is fitted. After market frames have square, virtical sides.
To those relatively new to the RenaultSport Clio thing, Trendlines identical to the 182 Trophy were also an optional extra from new from 2005. So it's not just seats and frames from the Trophy that are available as OEM replacement ;)
