r5 alpine turbo efi (megasquirt)

Hello to all my friends here. I wasn't posting for a long time because i was too busy. I just finished my efi conversion to my alpine turbo. I bought a cheap ecu (megasquirt) and after 2 weeks my car is now running with ecu.
I conrol the fueling and i also take control of the inition. I used all the stock parts (vr sensor, temp sensor...) and the conversion was easier than i thought. I can also control the boost of my car with this ecu. Now I have lounch control, rpm limiter(soft and hard), antilag system, and plus many protection (overboost, overheated). Now im gonna use an uprated exhaust 63mm piping which will end just before the rear wheel. in my plans is also a new hand made exhaust manifold and a new turbine. Its running much smoother than the gt turbo conversion and the best of all is that the fuel economy increased by far. I will dyno my baby this week.I believe its around 170 bhp at 1.2 bar. I have many more suprises and many more street racing..... to be continued

sure I'll post pics and many pics. I am so surprised of what an ecu can do and every i day i find more and more that my car can do. Today i installed a switch. When its on my car goes to full boost (1,2 bar) and the ignition is tunned for using 100+ octane unleaded fuel (very agressive avance)and the afr is about 12,1. When the switch is turned off the car goes to a light mode. The boost never exeeds 0.6 bar and the ignition is for use with 95 octane fuel. The afr in trip mode and low speeds , 80 to 140 km/h, is tunned for maximum economy. The afr is over 15 (far too lean). There is more and more......

Here is some specs
ecu: megasquirt v3.0 0.29v
vr sensor: stock
toothed flywheel: stock
fuel pump: r5 gt turbo
fuel lines: 8mm hand made
fuel rail: hand made
fuel regulator: civic vti
fuel injectors:civic vti, low imp, 260cc
distributer: stock
map: in ecu
boost control: opel astra turbo solenoid
intake manifold: stock drilled to mount the injectors
throtle: for now i use the gt carb's throtle

to do
handmade intake manifold with plenum and a 55mm throtle
uprated fuel pump and fuel lines
uprated front mount intercooler
the baterry will be putted on the back of the car to make room for a cold air intake straight from the bumper.
handmade exhaust manifold and exaust with 63mm piping

if someone needs more info ask me. Believe me i made a big research to do this.

Can the megasquirt be used as a direct replacement for the Renix unit with a std carb? The Renix is playing up on my new Le Car Turbo and I was wondering if there's an alternative, more modern ECU or ignition module that would work instead of it while keeping the carb?

Try a GT Turbo Ecu. usually the Dini ecu's are quite reliable.

Hey Bakakas excellent that you are using Megasquirt, actually a friend of mine gave me lots of info on it, hes building a G60 Golf and using megasquirt. My friend was telling me to use it on my 5 Turbo 2 project as he thinks it will make it run a lot better.
