not to nice blue one

For some reason i recognise this car. I may have once lived by me. Either that or craig had it at one point.

Didn't some chap rock upto the RR day @ Luton years ago in this 21 claiming wild BHP figures only to get a figure less than standard.....??
I'll have a look for the Retro Car magazine & let you know....

Don't look to bad, prob be ok with a bit of tlc! Needs some window trims tho oh and love the gear gator lol

It looks like i was mistaken......the chap in question was Rob Coulson who took a blue phase 2 but i can't see the number plate on the photo's....
he did claim 240bhp & managed 199bhp from his "Prima blueprint" engine...

The "Bogey" got the most with 239.5bhp, with Dave Sibley's now deceased tungston phase one coming in second @ 237.2bhp - HFC managed 194.2bhp....

Like you say, a change of wheels & good tidy up & it'll be a clean motor....

What sort of torque figures were they gettin with that power?

I really should get mine on the rollers but dunno if I could handle the disappointment haha

And my quaddie with less than standard but only 6 psi.

Your quadra made 163.2 bhp & 189 lbf.ft...not bad for an engine that "needs a bottom end re-build".....:thumb:

More figures:

Phase 1: 175.5bhp & 193.8 torque (James Darvill)
Phase 2: 184.8bhp & 205.5 torque (Simon Blewitt)
Phase 2: 205.7bhp & 213.4 torque (johnspin)
Phase 2 (4x4) 216.6bhp & 216.3 torque (Andy Rabson)
Phase 2 (4x4) 163.2bhp & 189.2 torque (Tony)
Phase 2: 175.1bhp & 204.8 torque (Graham Hunt)
Phase 1: 194.2bhp & 193.9 torque (Jonboy)
Phase 1: 237.2bhp & 254.9 torque (Mr Sibley)
Phase 1: 185.5bhp & 209.4 torque (Ricky O'hara)
Phase 2: 239.5bhp & 268.0 torque (Phil Clews - Bogey)
Phase 2: 185.1bhp & 221.9 torque (Dips)
Phase 2: 199.2bhp & 226.3 torque (Rob Coulson)

Be interesting to put them back on the rollers now - if any are still going that is....i know mine & Mr Sibleys are no more & that the Bogey is very poorly...

Not sure about the others....one thing i noticed from the pictures is that Amrit's red devil wasn't there & he wasn't wearing a shell/track suit...:dizzy:

Id be interested in finding out more on the HFC figures. Was that before the recon head was put on or after? If its after, then i think it might be coming out before time!!

Those figures were way before the head was reconditioned....in fact those figures were with the cracked head which served me well for a couple of years......for those figures it had a stainless exhaust, K&N panel filter & a bleed valve....simples.......
Once the head was reworked & replaced she pulled much healthier.....& that's as she left me to go into Ollies ownership.....
Not much else to add really except that the engine & gearbox really were the best bits of the car......:rip:

Cool, Thanks. Well at least half of it still lives......

No this isn't Rob's old car. And it's not one I owned. Similar plate one lives near swansea, but thats a quadra.

I think thats my car now Craig , J269 KOR blue quadra bought about 2 years ago from a chap called Mike Burford, he lived up swansea way mate......

Hi Scotty, lol thats the one you got just before I rang Mike to say I would have it, lol. Nah, Mike lived up the valleys, the one I am thinking about is James Hassles, and hasn't been on the road in years. That has well over 200k on the clock.

My quadra has got 57000 miles on clock, dont now how accurate that is as speedo was not working when i got it but have got mots going back to 2000 or so and it had about 30000 on the clock then has averaged 3000 or so each mot certificate since. So might be geniune miles.........You were probably lucky you didnt buy it as i spent ?800 on getting it all welded up for the mot..

Well my first one is a cube, and the second one is in storage (ish). Rabson's hasn't seen the light of day since then. As for most of the rest I think the sold up or are in cubes as well.

my silver quadra has approx 80k on the clock.. dont know if its genuine but cant see why not
