5 GT Turbo My little 5

They were made from an old rod removed from a hydraulic ram that was lying around the machine shop
However I'd imagine any old mild steel or bright bar would do

Nice! Good to see this one getting done properly.
Re the new roller/ball bearings, there is normally an SKF reference number on them, this gives the sizes and type.
Thought of doing the 172 rear stub conversion yet? Gives adjustment of camber&toe via 172/82 shims.

Thanks Matt
Would love to do so many thing but budget is zero
Since going self employed disposable income is thin on the ground
2018 will be the year for playing love the idea 4x4 rwd
Working on my £7 springeye bush rear engine mount at the moment

The bearings are easy enough it was everything else that built up the cost
Blead nipples broke so ended up fitting new calipers
Then decided to do everything else cables , pipes , flexis , wheel bearings :grin.gif:

Crikey it's been awhile
Looking for thoughts on moving the air filter to the scuttle area
Basically my turbo inlet runs straight into the heater hoses and I think the best way to avoid them is to come straight up to the bulkhead then through into the scuttle next to the battery
I'm sure people have done this before just looking for options
Is it noisy in the cab will it be starved for air in there

In other news it's coming along abit better now personal circumstances have changed should make noise for summerIMG_2373.webpIMG_2375.webp56977771892__9CDBAA4C-330A-4F09-BAE6-66BD197B3799.webp

Is the same side intercooler split down the middle? IE so that the air doesnt route straight out from the in ..
Yes I welded a little buffer plate in the end to separate it so the charge has to flow through then back
It's not pretty but held 30psi when I pressure tested it with my compressor
I'm no alloy welder used a spool gun and a hot plate to pre heat
Would love a tig and time to practice as I think it's something I could take to

The main reasons for this were I had no space to route the pipes back across to the throttle body
And the cooler already fits the front bumper saving time and ££ I simply don't have
