They would be savage, Kam have a floating 300 so it it can take the 300 I can look into bells to make it all work

ive seen it done with a 996 turbo rear calliper on the front, bracket and 300mm disks stuffed under a 15 but not the 225 brembo

I got a few minutes tonight (she came home from work I walked out the door, kids are yours for the next hour sweetheart )
So finances are holding up the engine install being I want to buy everything at once and have it all ready to rock by my man maths another 1500 should see this running mapped etc.
I spent a bit more time looking into the big brakes,
I've come to a crossroads, do i continue with the heads scratching to get it under the original wheels, or go up to 8x16?
From looking and roughly measuring to fit the 300mm discs under the standard alloys I would need to space them out at least 35mm
The 280s look lost under there and I don't need much room to get the 300s in.

Now if I go to a 16x7.5 / 8 that would solve all the clearing issues but limit tire choices.

Now excuse the tape and caliper this is just for mocking up, as what's good on paper doesn't always work out.

Well I got chatting to @Adey this morning and realised I was tired of making excuses about the swap, and overthinking everything so I cleaned up the shed and pulled the car in, that might seem an easy task.... There's half inch clearance either side of the car and I took the mirrors off to get them threw, I'll start pulling it apart during the week, as usual some pictures.

I'm caught between the ndo tl4 and jr5.
I can get diffs easy enough for the ndo and tl4 but the jr5 is easier to fit

if your scope for future power far exceeds 300bhp and 300lbft id be very much leaning towards and ND0 box. the tl4 is pants anyway and the JR5 is being pushed but based on the earlier JC5 which can be hit and miss.

Well got 4 hours in the shed, I would like to meet the asshole that thought one piece exhausts from backbox to downpipe is a great idea and the gimp that put the ECU in a cage with safety sheer bolts, I'd ram a sod of turf so far up they would be farting compost for months.

Anyway progress, front off, coolant drained battery and box outta there, ECU out and wiring in the process of being disconnected.

I've also gotten onto compomotive about my brake clearance issue and the might be able to help me with a low offset th2 like the ones in the pictures, I won't get at it again till Friday or Saturday when the plan is to pull the engine.

I had a few hours over Saturday so got the engine out, I'll swap sensors over whenever I get a chance to get to it, also plumb up the fuel return and battery relocation

I use the odyssey 680 AGM battery.

I wouldnt entertain a lightweight battery for anything thats not a fully blown racecar tbh mate. Miles less hassle, no need to disconnect or trickle charge the battery all the time.
