Twingo Mingo the F4RT powered Twingo GT

I broke eBay special rivnut gun, so the tool guy that comes around work had I nice setup so I did a buy, I'm really happy with it, I've yet to find out how much it was but hey, can't put a price on qualityDSC_0943.webp
Now that I could fire rivnuts in I could mount the intercooler properly. Few pictures of how that went, it in for its first test so I've put it back to standard seats and steering wheelDSC_0944.webp

Easy fix sort of, do I replace with standard items or b14s, standards are gonna set me back half the cost of the b14s

I did a buy, going to collect them Friday hopefully!

Now I gotta decide on the front wishbone, powerflex purple or balls out black and camber adjustable. Or do the camber bolts on the shock do just as much? Does anyone know

The camber adjustable bushes are shit, fit normal powerflex non adjustable. Best way of adjusting is on the strut to hub bolts, if same as clio the top holes are elongated.

Prob wont even need camber bolts as top hole is elongated and should be able to get enough on that for most setups mate

So went over to Alex bennet and picked up a meg for a friend, _20210625_223510.webpand had my bilstiens delivered to him while I was there, an unexpected requirement and to be honest the standard units seemed sharper but time will tell, DSC_1044.webpI read through the "manual" on the boat at 3am so was a little tires and read it upside down resulting in this!DSC_1045.webp

Easy fix so back inDSC_1047.webp and the front was uneventful.DSC_1048.webp

So it sits like thisIMG-20210627-WA0008.webp

Also playing around with how to fit the brembos, an old school big brake kit from my r5gt serves as a template which to be honest isn't far off, only thing is on the standard wheels it's at least 40mm to clear the caliper

I had B14s on mine. I was fairly impressed with them.

Sold the Twingo to a mate and the rear dampers both failed after a total of 1500 miles. Bilstein replaced them under warranty after a little bit of a fight.

Get them coated in ACF50 of something as their corrosion resistance isn't great.

Well ya know what they say no good deed goes unpunished! I found myself at home for the week for quarantine so yesterday was far too hot and wasn't arsed Monday so have the paint a quick pass with some sonax maxcut and I'll Finish out tomorrow

I might have made a little progress on the brakes,
I've two guys looking at the design of the brackets, now to go with steel, aluminium or be retarded and buy a block of titanium or the like, time will tell with that, on the disc front surprisingly a possible solution was staring me in the face, the meg estate has 280mm discs opposed to the 250 on the twingo, there is a 3mm difference in bellhousing hight but I'll offer them up over the weekend and see! It would be nice to have an off the shelf setup.
Here's the specs on both discs if someone can see something I'm missing

Looks the same as the 172 disk at a glance, which I'd expect being renault. Easier to use the same 280mm disk across all of them. Also makes sense as I have a 1.5mm ish spacer to centralise my calipers.

I've seen a few of the clio bremobo aluminium brackets rotting away, steel might be a better option for longevity.
