Laguna 2 gt 204

Hi,
Those are the two pictures I have got of the bracket. I was also surprised about the megane plastic part.

Fast around corners is fun. But in a laguna?
Extra horses will also be difficult because of the lpg system. So the pk4 17 will stay. I paid 700 euros for it which was probably too much.

Hi,
As I won't be getting my hands dirty, it was time for some can clip Action...

The headlights don't switch on, even if I put in a different set of lights. I don't think there is a shared fuse nor relay for both? Might be the switch.

Then there is df002 for the air temp sensor (values out of tolerance). Does not come back directly when deleted but does when started from cold. The sensor is new so that might be a wiring problem.

Programm tpms system. I have done this before on my initiale but can clip really is not intuitive. I have forgot how to do it. Will spend some time trying again today.

As you see the dashbord has lifted. Will be glued down or replaced with a good spare that I have.

Daniel

P.s. I actually think that the two brakets are functionally the same. I don't think that for the conversion you really need to buy the metal one. We will see

If tmps is same as meg2 you need to disable in tdb and another area poss uch. Its been a while since ive done one with clip.

So,
Lights work, air temperature sensor was just a bad connection... and I found the write new sensors section. However my cheap chinese activator only activates chinese sensors :(

Differences...

There are no visible under-bonnet differences. Ok. The initiale has not passed 12 years in the rain.
And the bumper grill is different.
I also wonder who placed the lpg valve block above the brake fluid Reservoir.

I do prefer the neater lpg system in the initiale which is invisible. Both are vialle liquid injection...

Thanks for reading

Hi,
Just a quick update.
Looks like the car ist ready for a MOT. The testdrives were problem free apart from the boost hose popping off. First time on the road after more than 12 years. Drives absolutely fine and even the brake disks cleaned up well.

I haven't changed the gearbox yet and I cannot hear the wine the seller told me about. Maybe it does show up when i drive it daily.

The engine does lose engine oil at the gearbox end, there are stone chips in the screen and the LPG system has to be added to the car's documents 14 years after it has been installed.

So please, wish me luck at the German TÜV / MOT.

I always enjoy trips to the scrap yard as well. Might get the wheels of the silver one. Same design, but silver instead of the GT exklusive chrome Shadow tint...

Hey, yes, does look crusty.

I think the car arrived last summer in pretty mint condition and 150.000km. Not sure what is wrong with it apart from some rusty Germanic POS sitting on its roof.
I am tempted to buy everything under the bonnet but then i don't really want to clutter up the Garage... Especially as it is the higher compression/ smaller turbo engine.

Hi,
Well, no great news on this project.
Looks like it will be a hassle to get the LPG system homologated. That should have been added to the car's documents more than 10 years ago and it seems that regulations have changed. I won't give up yet.

Secondly, there is a top end rattle. Not when cold, not when hot but definitely present while warming up. Can anyone place that irregular ticking noise? 💰😕

Please check the Video attached. And yes, it is not the cleanest engine out there.

ticking f4r

Sometimes I feel like binning the project...

Thanks!

Hi,
An advisory-free mot is achieved. And more paperwork. So nearly everything done to get this back on the road...

The top end rattle remains during warm up. Might be a hydraulic lifter?
I cannot really hear that anything is wrong with the gearbox. Definitely no whines in any gear. Strange.

Can't say I like the lowering kit. There are just too many potholes around.

Hi,
Just around the Corner there is this Car for sale. I sat in it and still managed not to buy it... But only just.

A 2007 Phase 2 vel satis 2.0t auto with 60t miles for 1000 Euros. What do you think about these? I loved the tan interior and huge windows. What do you think about these turds?

Yes, it is ugly. The interior is lovely, though. The large windows and the beigeness make it very airy. However, the 200kg extra weight and Auto gearbox are really a drawback. As slow as a naturally aspirated f4r Laguna. Mapped up it could be fun..
However, great car to waft around in und bump into things as that is what it obviously been used for before... 🫣

I will resist and finish off the gt

Well,
I have sinned over easter. I don't think I would do this again but i really didn't like the warped dash.

Got a shock when reconnecting the battery as the horn didn't stop blarring. Well, better than getting an airbag in the face. There is also an airbag fault so I will have to have another look at the steering column. Everything else works, so I am quite happy.

Also discovered a GPS tracker and a large amp for the subwoofer in the boot. Not sure If I want to keep that. Nobody is going to steal an old french Car.

Happy Easter!

Daniel
