Twingo John's £150 Twingo Extreme Trackday Project

Booked a full day at Oulton Park on Feb 16th with Javelin (£160 incl Garage cant be sniffed at, will be splitting the garage cost too so really £140), will hopefully force me to get everything thats scattered around the shed fitted and we'll see what the car is like with the changes. Probably will do one at Anglesey and then fully look into engine swapping after.

After discovering that the air filter housing I thought the previous owner had secured via cable ties was in fact entirely attached to the block via cable ties, quick "upgrade" test fit.

Need to remove the old housing first, might take scuttle panel off for easier access and properly seal it up. Also need to hook up the PCV filter as I cba routing it back into the new pipe.

Also more goodies courtesy of @Adey arrived for fitting in new year, polybushrd 172 ARB and wishbones, plus some old drums for backup.

Well... An interesting day was had with @YamYamRob helping me get this out of a donor GT and into the back of the Octavia (where it still is..)

Need to somehow get it out now and into the shed where it'll remain till dryer and warmer.

I'll continue the swap chat and details in the other thread here:

Some more £free Facebook purchases from the local area.

Under tray from a higher spec model and some Heko wind deflectors for the windows. Always liked the look of these when I had them on previous cars.

Another video up, cant believe I've done 33 of these so far and the next one is almost completely edited. Quite a boring topic this time but documenting it all anyway good or bad.

Well after some intense struggles with the braided lines and clio 172 ARB bushes (videos soon) things were looking up until I dropped it down and found I could no longer select reverse, first or second and the front wheels were well and truly toed out by about 5-10 degrees!

😭

Luckily @Robx1r was in the area a good few hours early for his EFI mapping session and @YamYamRob was on his way up with parts for him so a quick dash to grab the former and we had an impromptu Turborenault meet up on my drive.

20 mins later all gears selectable (I'd undone the gear rod linkage bolt to try and get it off and clearly not done it up properly) and about 1.5" of tie rod adjustment each side and its driveable again.

Then popped over to EFI to see them again
