Megane Inferno 3 door phase one 225

No not yet...... don't know how ,I'm a novice at this stuff.
It runs fine ATM, it just dropped back to limp after being sat after MOT.
It did 6 or so miles last night after clearing stored faults, and other than high idle( 1200) at a stop for 5 secs before it settles at 900ish, perhaps there's a hesitation noticeable going from first to second, bit of a lag in throttle response
TB that's on is deffo not original, it's been swapped at some point, visibly shittier than inlet.
I'll look into forcing a reset/relearn any pointers are welcome.

Sourced another TB from @roland rat , much cheapness, he's a gent.
I'll get another gasket before I fit it, car holds on to revs on and off , even when it's warm, sometimes it does , sometimes it don't.....
Used as daily for last week or so, hasn't thrown any faults up, always starts, stops , spins 'em up at will even in the dry ...... don't think accellera tyres are much cop.
No major issues, so I've started polishing, wet cut down drivers side with some medium compound, then some facela swirl remover, splash of Autoglym resin polish, 400 grit on chipped door edges , touch up with some acid etch , then some inferno orange from a touch up.
Looks the knackers, never struck on this colour, bought the car on condition and price.......but a bit of spit and polish seems to make it redder in low light, but then it pops in currant sun.

Get the other wheels refurbished and it should start to look dandy.

Off with the dirty work boots and on with some sexy high heels......just like me on cross dressing Thursdays....

Too much paint and shite on the cup wheels I bought for me to prep and paint, so I had them done by a firm in Sheffield, tyres off , acid dipped , aluminium blasted, primed, silver ( that's what he wanted ) and lacquered in powder, tyres back on and balanced, they're good but not perfect, bit of orange peel here and there, few bits of shit on finish.
Wheels came with as new PS4 tyres, but in 225 flavour , not 235, but for 300 quid I deemed them worth it.
Ready for hand over at end of month, we're at about 3.5k all in, car purchase and delivery, 900 quids worth just on Renault clutch kit, DMF, cambelt/aux kit and 500 quids worth of wheels/refurb/tyres so I think it's come in pretty well considering the amount of fresh bits.
Fingers crossed he doesn't bend it....

And the sun sets on his time with Camprust...

Well done getting it back to tip top working order 👏

Looks good and numbers stack up well with no hidden suprises 😉

What's the plan with Camprust?????
If it was up to me .....gone in a heartbeat....up to him, it'll get an engine swap, but don't think I've got it in me, I've got plenty to do, unfinished 79 Suzuki GS1000 restoration, house hasn't seen a paintbrush since I started Camprust, roof is ready for a complete replacement on house, garage ain't far behind, plus I just haven't got the fizz in my pants for stuff like that anymore.
Current plan is he sees how he likes Meg, I swop insurance over to my missus on Camprust, keep it rolling, then decide, there's value in it being a three door non sunroof shell.
Daughter has her test soon, so I need to pick her something up and go through it.

Sounds familiar, house jobs never end and while 98% finished our renovation/conversion over last 3 years.... garage roof now needs replacing but its a big flat roof so not only loads of work, ££ also. Oh and painting def coming bk on the list of jobs to do 😞

Just glad boys are a bit young to worry about car joys for them 11, 9 & 7......imagine going to get similar story you have 🙃

Looks really Tidy that. My 21 year old Son bought himself an R26 a couple of months ago. Seems ok in it. He fitted new 235 PS4’s got a cambelt kit to do on it but he Loves it. View attachment 206116
My urge for a 225 Trophy kicked it off, I nearly chopped our 172 Cup in on a 5 door 225 back when they were new, two young ones and a pram in a 3 door Clio was probably not a good idea, but it was better than my GTA.
In the end we went at the lower end of the market for 225's and he started showing interest, especially when he got insurance quotes and a 225 was a lot cheaper than a 172/182 he originally fancied, he'll be just shy of 21 when he puts it on the road cos he can't hold his water for two months and he'll only have one years NCB, but his quote is 1200 fully comp, which considering I paid 750 TPO in 1992 for my 11T, I don't think is bad?

Fitted the pre loved TB that @roland rat supplied me a bit back, had given it a good clean out with carb cleaner, drives lovely now, no more hesitation changing gears, or holding high idle for more than a few seconds.
@Neal R19 if you still want this old one it's yours for cost of post, I'd be interested to see what tracks look like if you strip it.
Bit of a difference running this around to my Diesel Meg estate, not sure I could cope with its appetite for fuel....

Ah yes please mate, how much do you reckon to post?

At a guess , about a tenner, give or take a couple of quid, it'll be royal mail signed for second class.
Message me an address if you want it and I'll box it up and send it.
No drama if you don't want it, but it'll just end up sitting here with rest of tat .....just let me know.

Micro update....he loves it, he's gone all weird buying brochures and shit.
I've been busy with a Clio as my daughter passed her test a few weeks back, left the house at ten in the morning with a pocket full of cash and managed to pick an 08 Clio 1.2 TCE with 49k on it, bit of a weird experience as the bloke was blind , and his missus had kippered it, he handed me the keys to test drive it alone.....felt very uncomfortable....
Anyway I've had an inferno passenger mirror on my watch list for a few months for 20 quid , housing was damaged but the cover was good, not unmarked , but in keeping with the rest of the car.
Now Clio is checked over with a few fresh bits , I bought it and swapped the covers over, cheap makeover.
