Megane Inferno 3 door phase one 225

Reamed bush out in situ, some 60 grit wrapped round a 6mm bit a couple of times was nice and snug, kept spinning it by hand until spindle was a nice fit, then cleaned it up with some 120.
Judging by punch marks on the end of it , someone's been in before me, bush is softish nylon looking, in case the bush isn't happy with normal grease I used red rubber.
It was fookin tight when I stripped it, smooth as silk now.

Road test and it's all good, the rattle however persists, got my suspicions load sensor arm might be it, ball joint is loose on axle side.
I've had a good pull about on the exhaust and rest of shields and can't pin it to anything else.
Too hot now, I'm done.

Still looks well.

My Lad has finally got round to having a new key card done , he wanted Gen Renault, so booked it in at local dealer.
They've just rung him to tell him it's done, but reverse cable snapped as they took it out of workshop, I told him just to fetch it without going backwards, which they're now saying all cables have snapped so he can't, 214 quid for the parts ......I smell a rat .

Theres no reverse cable on its own. Id imagine the side to side cable has broken, so will only be able to find a couple of gears 3/4 if it is in the middle of the gate.

Parts wise cables are around a ton.

My Lad says lever goes back and forth , but not side to side, and yeah only two cables, TBH I'll need to stay away and just let him get it recovered, get it home and I'll sort it, I'm permanently on watch for someone pulling my pants down and can get quite 'animated ' should suspect someone is tugging, we've gone from cables to above WhatsApp refers to gear lever......dunno

Pushed car onto the road outside dealership gates, low loader mate can't do it till Thursday, so we're going back later with Megvan and some rope, it's only 4 mile away, all taxed n shit, not like my midnight, fingers crossed not t&t , no insurance, car fetching escapades

Yeah. Not like No MOT, No Insurance, No tax and No sense....
Them were the days ...
Remember to brief junior on the guy at the front deals with getting the whole show going, guy at the back is all the brakes for the whole show with no servo, it'll be a leg workout.

Yup, you just go into auto pilot in certain situations. I was being towed at night and the windscreen started to fog up, engine ran, just died when pulling away or being rev’d, fired it up, cleared screen, was toasty warm all the way home, funny thing was, once I got there I said I’d try driving it on to drive and it ran fine and never played up again 🤣

Yessum, lights and engine on, rope only broke four times ....I've got towing gear on car but no towing ball, and tow bar brackets cover towing eye thread, so had to tie through towing emergency brake eye, which is A, small and B , sharp, hence snappy .
Looks like shifter is bolloxed.

Got the shift mech off this morning, heat shield off, split exhaust, batt, ECU, airbox, centre console off.
Pics below, broken bush is for side to side movement, there was no cable reaction to for and aft, so I split assembly and that cable had come off ball at the bottom of shift, rubber gaiter that keeps crap out of top ball of shifter is split and dragged out of retaining plate.
Aforementioned fore/aft cable clip back in, although clips are weak to me.
Two faults on mech are either foul play or bad luck, possibly bottom cable came loose and it was bitched slapped around like crazy to try and get it into gear and bush broke?

Anyway, no use crying, I'm looking for a 8200346859 , if he can get new with cables, we'll go for that, if not s/h mech and new cables.
I feel better now it's off, it's all fixable.
Crack on, keep fighting.

It's an RS AFAIK, think new part no . is possibly R26 as there's mention on KAM site concerning cables being slightly different as they are R26 , not phase 1 225, fit, just different.
I'm gonna get creative with this one , bolt through the bush, it's only lost it clips on the end, I reckon I can fix it stronger than before.
Fuck 'em , never say die

Damage prob done when selector was stiff and its finally given up. The stiff selector puts loads of stress on the rest of the components, ive heard of a few cables breaking. Bosh a new set of oem cables on from kam whilst in the area.
