Megane Inferno 3 door phase one 225

No great issues with Orange fat arse, other than airbag light came back on after he put some new mats in, I don't want to splice the wiring, but think it may be the only way.
He's complaining about the gear lever not centralising, it's sloppy as well, I've seen the fix on the resources part of TR , is this the best way to attack it , or is there another way ? @Brigsy ?

Regarding shifter not centraising, its usually the bush that swells in the selector. Can usually get away with simply stripping it down, reaming the bush out and greasing up.

Ive also seen replacement bushes for sale Megane 2 RS Gear Selector Bushes - Cooksport

Airbag will be duff wiring or connector. If all else fails disconnect the seat airbag wiring and code the seats out.

Is it strippable in situ? The resources vid shows a drill into side , push bush up, I'd rather strip it out and grease it up, check bush condition and replace if necessary.

We're still on one wanky keycard as well, don't know if I dare try coding new cards, place I was gonna use won't do it, is it possible on clip by a duffer like me?

Spadger finally got round to spending a bit on orange fat arse, two foreign piss ups later...... don't blame him, do it while you can.
First up, alignment

I wasn't far off with string and rulers, I haven't driven it yet, but he's over the moon, better in every way, didn't take them long, so they only charged him £26 for a check, boom!
Bloke doing keycards is on his holibobs, so he'll have to wait, I have no inclination to do them myself, getting proper lazy, feck it, I'm done.

Shamed into doing something on this at the dinner table by my lad and missus, I'd borrowed it to nip to shops.....feckin horrid thing....he's been on my case to look at rear exhaust heat shield.....and I've looked and made my excuses.

But driving it did my nut in.....rattle rattle...that coupled with shit gear shift was enough to break out my enthusiasm, that and @Brigsy cracking on at an alarming rate with LY R26......

Rear bumper off, not too bad considering winy rusty torx screws

Then drop exhaust of mounts and there was just enough room to get the shield out and then the torx screws, only one needed little molelys, godsend there in plastic floor
He'd bought a Chinese kit to repair it with, but it came with spire clips, bit of thought and I decided to use the ally repair discs and rivet them on, bit of silicone as well.
Bit of a guesstimate as to where holes should be due to corrosion, so I enlarged them to give me a bit of wiggle room, found three good torx screws with big washers, and she's golden

Bumper fixings are a bit scraggy, so I've left a couple off, see what I can find, other than that all back together

Gear shift gets worse when it's hot, he's read up that there's a bush on box that needs replacing, or reaming out, it's deffo more than just the shifter in the car being wobbly, it seems to stick when it's hot, best get battery tray off and look-see.
New genuine oil filter and Elf oil ( he's turning into a freak ) which took me a while longer than usual, think I tightened filter with bumper off when I did belts/ clutch......I made a rest mess, stomping about , bitching and moaning, oil pissing out of filter cos chain wrench had pieced it.........mardy old cant......

Gotta build a Suzuki GS1000 engine before I get to involved with 8, old man is doing N/S rear wing area ATM, but he's had COV , so it's knocked seven bells out of him

Stiff shift just needs the selector removing and the plastic bush reaming out. My clio trophy needs it doing, but nigh on impossible to do with the sidewinder turbo manifold so will wait until the box is removed for clutch swap.
