How to Drive Around Goodwood in the Rain

For those that took their cars out on the Goodwood circuit at the Origine RS event this year, this is a video for you.

In 2013 qualifying for the Goodwood Revival Ford GT40 race took part in rainy conditions. Adrian Newey of F1 fame was racing with Kenny Brack in his GT40.

The footage below is of Kenny Bracks qualifying laps. This is some of the most amazing driving skills I have seen. The steering wheel never stops moving as correction after correction is made to keep the car on the tarmac. The GT40 seems to want to throw itself off the track at every possible moment.

Hope you enjoy:

Great vid Carl!
It will be a bit of an eye-opener when the weather is torrid at an OrigineRS event.

Superb! :approve:

That GT40 seems to break traction almost everywhere. Great to watch, especially the superb car control. Wonder what the Vee will be like on a greasy day like that - hope we don't get to find out!

[smilie=icon_eek.gif] Blimey!! He has truely fantastic control.

I was particularly amazed at how attracted to the wall the car was on the pit straight.

It would be really interesting to drive a vee on track on those conditions as you would certainly learn alot more about the car.

There's no surprise they qualified 1st and Newey and Brack won the Whitsun Trophy race on the Saturday.

I would love to try my Vee on a skid pan in a controlled environment where there will be no damage to the car when it all goes wrong.

I too have thought this and briefly looked into it. Thruxton offer a drive your own on there skid pan. Something Iv not got around to looking into further yet tho.

Great video Carl... I hope we never experience damp conditions at Origine RS. The beautiful sunshine we've been blessed with so far has been blissful.

As you know, but others may not... we did have the opportunity of the use of the skid pan at Goodwood, but only using their BMW's. Sadly we had to withdraw the option due to lack of interest.

Maybe next year... :salut:
