and got the primary side of the IC piped up - complete with pikey swaging alternative LOL

the secondary side of the IC pipework is not as straightforward as I thought, a few more pipes and bends ordered. I offered the bumper up and there is more room than I initially thought. however, I think I may be needing a new one as the new set-up does not lend itself to the old. Anyone know of any kicking around, please pm me.

arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! mines still got mot i think so longs im driving it before the 17th i win lol

Think you've got the win there buddy.

Anyway - a bit of Pikey modding to the front bumper.

I've just roughly cut out the slots where the number plate used to be - I'm currently looking for some form of grill / mesh that will look great there, this will do for the time being, and the top part is the remainder of a rear bumper with the rears of the slats cut out. Currently fixed in place with Siko-flex. Ideally I wild like to get a fooked bumper for next to nowt and graft that into place above the original. Anyone know of any, let me know. Hopefully the rest of the pipework will turn up tomorrow and I should be able to get it all together by the weekend.
Thinking of doing a splitter on the bottom - any suggestions on materials?

Muchos cool air intake, good work Andy :)

Re-done the bumper using the bottom of an office paper tray - it'll do for the time being.

It's a bit crude - and tbh - until I get another bumper sorted, there's so much work needed on this bumper, that it's going to stay like this until I can find one.

I also managed to get all the pipework and electrics back in and the pipework altered enough to ensure the bumper goes on. This however, has led to another bit needed. But he runs again and should be back on his feet by tomorrow, ready for a clean up and off to the MOT station on Saturday.

Very subtle - but the lower pipework is now a good 35mm further back which is just enough avoid contact with the bumper.

also done was I made up a new top pipe leading upto the TB with 2 new 1/8 inch tappered BSPT threads for pressure readings and air temp. Sounds swish but it's just 2 8mm nuts welded to a pipe and tapped out LOL. Pictures later.

my new boss' in place

Trial fitted the bumper and clears everything, but the lower support on the near side is now useless, so I've made some h/d versions which are a fair bit better than the existing ones.

These will be easier to adjust.

Just waiting on my 45 deg bend and that's it - ready for mapping, mot and tax, FCS then mapping and hopefully some track time.

Cheers Karl - LOL - the slippers are necessary as I'm continually inside-outside-inside-outside.....................etc.

I never were them when jacking / heavy lifting etc - I had a close call once where the steelies literally saved at least 3 toes.

Just need this 45 degree bend now.

Grrrrr - frustrated .com

BTW - Ross is taking Red for it's MOT on Saturday also. Might just see him this year for a bit of boosting and hopefully.

Boost run in and finished - tight but all in there and protected against rubbing where needed.

all exposed metal hamerited 1st coat - just got to give those bits another coat then give him a clean off then bumper and bonnet back on and off to MOT see how we get on. I'll do a boost leak test before all that though.

Ahh wise words fella, it must be MOT Saturday!lol Good luck to fluffster & red, thats positive to hear that Ross maybe back in the game and up for track action this year. Did he change the gearbox?

Nice work mate , sure it will pass mot
Cheers Matt - Fingers crossed - we have a good MOT chap here in Acle, he's a real world mechanic, no bullshit kind of approach - if it's safe he's fine, if it needs doing he'l tell me to get it done. I always do his recommendations and go back with it to put his mind at ease. So I feel relatively confident I'll be coming away with a pass, even if I need to do some more work.

No - as it happens, he doesn't think it's a gearbox problem - it may have been something that has worked loose and started rattling when he was giving it large on Snetterton last year which is really good news. He had a few hours on it last night and we'll know more by weekend. I wouldn't hold your breath with Ross being back in the game, I'd love that to be the case, but he's still an extremely busy bunny outside of car work with his own business, a wedding which he's put off till next year, the huge development to his new house and not to forget helping the soon to be Mrs Brewer with her business also. It's good to hear from him again and hopefully he'll be about for some early morning coastal boosting.

Got out early this morning to wire brush down and K-rust treat bumper mounting points - I'll see if I can get some paint on it before leaving off - I'm running out of time. I've realistically just got tonight to work on him before Saturday.

All back together and cleaned up.

MOT Saturday - fingers crossed, Ross randg earlier to say he had an 8 o'clock slot at the same garage - odd I said, that's what time they booked me in. As it happens, they have no booking for me. I'll ring them tomorrow. Bunch of arse.

Anyway soon to be back on the rd for som happy boosting (after mapping by Scoff of course)
