Hello Folks,
First The Gripe
Not for the first time I found myself being the _only_ person at a show
with a Renault on display. Why? Because the TROC organisers pulled
the plug at the very last minute, over what turned out to be a bogus
weather forecast. If every other exhibitor group had been such wimps
there would have been no show at all!
The _only_, repeat _only_, group to pull out was the TROC. What an
appalling decision. If I had not gone and my mate, who was taking a
Golf GTI, had gone and come back with news of how good the show
actually was, I'd be even more livid than I am presently.
For me to get sent a PM at 10pm on the eve of the show was way too
late. I was only able to open it at 7.15am on the show morning. It's no
good blaming me because I had not divulged my moby number, I was
on a farm in the wilds of Cumbria with no signal to receive it! I made
that fact known weeks ago. My last message was that I was going come
what may, it was only going to be showery at worst.
I've been caught out by duff weather forecasts in the past - but even so,
it was nothing less than a bad decision to pull out. I can't imagine what
David the organiser will make of TROC and whether he'll accept another
application next year. I know I would not!
Now to the Good Bit
What a fantastic show! Some really good metal on display. The welcome
was warm and stewards helpful. Over 300 cars on dry ground, having
made the 80 mile journey in torrential rain. The spray on the M6 was
something to witness.
Having got parked up and hoping that I'm not going to get too up-staged
by a very tidy 02 Scooby next to me, my heart was gladdened by the vision
and sound of not one but two blasts from the past. I'll let the pictures do
the talking...

Regards,
Steve
