5 GT Turbo F7P Turbo built

Hello Everyone,

i am on my way to put a turbo on my F7P Engine.
First i am rebuilding the engine with new piston rings and bearings, i am having hard time finding any place mentioning the oil clearance for this engine, so please if any one can help me with the rod and main bearings oil clearance.

Second question, how much boost a stock F7P engine can hold, i will be using TD04-16t turbo, so what hp and torque should i expect on 7 PSI.

Third question if i skimmed stock piston with 1.5 mm which gives ~ 9 compression ratio, will this help me increasing the boost, if yes what will be the safest boost with it and how much power will i expect.

Note:
I will be using aftermarket ECU ( Megasquirt 2 v3.0 ), 550 cc injectors, oil cooler already exists.
Should be running 95 octane, Rev limit should be 7500 RPM

Appreciate your help.

By lowering the comp you will probably be able to run more boost with less risk of detonation. I am unsure on what levels you will be able to run, but your tuner will be able to work this out. There isnt really a set PSI that "safe" boost is as there are so many variables.

I have read on many places that the connecting Rod can hold a lot of power and the only problem will be the compression ratio due to the pistons.
Honestly the Tuner should be me as this will be my first project :) which should be a learning one or the entry project for the tuning world.

I will start any way tuning the engine NA without turbo, but i am rebuilding the engine now for the turbo.

If everything goes right it will be running turbo within the next 5 months.

Right now, the most important thing to find correct oil clearance for the rod and main bearings, as i am in this process right now.

Actually i am going to put a turbo on the R19 !.8 16v F7P engine not the 1.4 R5 engine.
Thanks for your help.

Its an F7p turbo engine I run in my gtt :-)

Ref standard internals you will be looking about 230bhp give or take depends on condition of parts as they would all have had plenty of abuse by now. With skimmed pistons down to about 9.5:1 you can see about 300bhp with decent management and decent mapper.
