Extra turbo

Proper quick that, my 390 bhp R32GTR only ran 12.6 at 108 and I'm figuring that launches a whole letter better than the extra :0). Must have about 250-270 per ton to run that :0)
 
same, quickest ive ever gone is 12.6 @112 and 118mph in 2 x 200sx's and then 12.7 @104 in the audi s4. FWD was a 13.4 @110 in the Supercharged clio

Doing it in a van, back then is seriously impressive
 
Done 1.7sec 60ft on that run. Also done 4.1sec 0-60 at york raceway on the shootout back in 2012 :D

Cant wait..its a shame the current engine is pissing out oil or would be up and running asap. The plan is to mock up/fire up on current engine and then build the new lump
 
be interesting to see what it does power and delivery wise with the same boost levels, its been very consistent with power runs on the carb.
 
Engine spec will be different to current, custom cam etc. Even considering raising the comp slightly for better response. Need to sit down and weigh up options :) ideally same power as current setup but less boost
 
Nothing happening lately however picked up my new low mileage 30k c3j for a base to build on. Should be better than all the semi knackered c1js i have in bits. The plans are get it out the garage and into the big garage very soon;)20171128_205331.webp
 
isnt it only the bore and head that are lightly different, compression? 1390 vs 1397cc? head maybe missing a stud/hole for the manifold to bolt up on? Wasnt the camparse one of these with the comp dropped and gtt bits bolted on?
 
Differences to c1j are 1390cc, head height is different aswell as raised compression, different cam, different oil pump, different timing chain tensioner & sump etc.

Crank is the same as c1j so will strip down and build from there. Might even look at using the c3j head. Thinking about raising the compression slightly to mid 8s as no problem with efi.

Will be very similar to current setup with raised compression and possibly different cam. I don't think it will make much if any more hp but drive ability should be improved 100%. Keeping the build reasonably priced so i can stick a lsd in. Still unsure whether to go maintenance free quaife helical diff or gripper plate diff.
 
keep me in mind if you end up swapping cams and that old one needs a home (y)

Diff will make all the difference! i miss having one in a FWD the Van will be full on beast mode on track with one fitted
