Interesting you use 20/50 and not 10/60. Any reason for this? Curious rather than critical here!

Personal choice - C1j always run great with 20/50, i generally run them in on 20/50 mineral oil to seat the rings in and note quiet engine, and good oil pressure.

Whilst looking for more running in oil through covid, i come across Valvoline vr1 20/50 high performance mineral oil. It has a high zinc additive which is recommended for flat tappet ohv chevy big block engines and similar. With c1j being similar flat tappet it needs all the help it can get in that respect so give it a go and it performs as good as the 10/60 and also a bit cheaper.

It is always very clean and oil pressure is good when hot, and not sure if luck but ive never needed to adjust the valve clearances since last head retorque. Its classed as high performance racing oil so can handle plenty of high temps. Also as its cheaper than 10/60 so can change it more often.

I cannot say I have used 20/50! dont have a OHV or C1j either though! :)
