I have no idea on F4R costs to convert is an audi lump an option? Suspect custom mounts, shafts the biggest hurdle but also goes against the french grain :)

Yeah 1.8T VAG lump is doable but I think a bit more to it. F4R seems to be same box, shafts and 2 of the engine mounts. One one of the mounts needs to be changed to GTX style and I believe it drops in. I think it sit's a little higher so will need to sort something with bonnet.

Currently sourcing a lump, will get Mark G to build with some decent rods and pistons. Sort some cams and valve springs and a few other bits and I am half way there. Get my mate to amend loom and jobs a good un. (i hope)

Mark if you're not going to finish this build I think you need to give me back the hours I have probably spent reading all 79 pages since you began.....
Good luck with the new engine mate, real shame this didn't work out after all your time and effort.

haha sorry mate.

Hi did you ever sort the manifold problems Or send it back to the supplier ?? I'm having problems with my original one from Micheal T and was thinking of having somthing proper made up.

Hi mate, sold it to @Fordy and he was going to sort it himself. Not sure how far he got with it.

What’s happening with it ? I thought it was quite simple in its design ?
Keeps misfiring thought maybe it was an air leak but no I think it's either manifold design or fuel rail it only misfires on cylinder 2 🤔Replaced injectors coil pack for genuine crank sensor for genuine new leads new plugs stripped the manifold down replaced gaskets, had the head off just nothing

Ah yeah I had similar, can’t remember what fixed it. Think it was the right plugs in the end but I replaced everything with genuine/new.

Yeah I’ve not got far with marks old manifold, I’ve got the injector bungs bored to 8mm just need to finish to a nice 13.5-13.8mm then cut out the old ones and weld in new ones.

Tbh the maker of it did say might be easier to just cut off the flange and weld a new type on. But I kinda got the impression it’s going to cost a chunk of money.

Have toyed with selling everything and the car tbh as kinda fancy a Tiger Avon instead these days

I run plugs standard copper 7 heat range in my C1J with no issues and no signs of overheating them.

I’m sure marks Micheal T manifold leaked like a sieve? Being cast alloy it’s not worth trying to weld it, you’d have more luck welding aero chocolate bars together.

Fordy would you sell me the modded manifold at all ???

Had a lot of issues with those plugs, kept missing regardless of how small I made the plug gap.
aaahhh I see I'll get them swapped out then, also opened up the manifold and it looks poor to say the least. None of the injector holes are the same size or in anyway match up and the injectors don't sit flush pointing them in all direction it can't help surely
