Lol just spunked a further £150 on MLS gasket, clutch release bearing and head bolts and then a further £400 on ductile liners. Just tracking down some rods and pistons.

Going to remove head and manifolds as one so I don’t have to fork out on yet another £90 on exhaust/inlet gasket.

Engine will be out by weekend and delivered to Mark G.

Lets get more pressing matters dealt with. Did you skimlink the clutch release bearing ?

I’ve a mate coming over Thursday to pull the engine out and then I’ll shoot over to Marks on the weekend to drop bits off.

Pistons and rods will be here by Friday and liners arrived today. With any luck I’ll have it back in within a few weeks depending on Marks workload.

Going to order head stud conversion kit from Prima also. Also asked Jermaine to look into .86 housing, not decided on that yet though.

Current one is 0.64, so yeah quite a bit bigger. That age old trade off, spool vs power.

But with GTX Gen 2 with 0.64 housing we were positive boost by 3k, 20 psi by 4k and full boost by 4800rpm. I'm willing to give up 250-500rpm of lag/spool for say a 20-30% increase in power/efficiency but yeah its definitely a trade off. But plan is to take 0.64 with me on the day of mapping, worse case I swap them back once it cools.

Looking at Glenn's results below which is a much bigger turbo than mine (a GT30 variant I believe) even he was making full boost between 5500-6000 but revving out to 8k. I believe they finished on 41psi.

i have no idea on the score with cams but if it can shift the power band upwards where the turbo will be working it might be worth it.
